Hadn’t the Pleasure # 41
The books that have been
collecting dust for so long they have become stained from it
Charles Larkin is finally happy with
his life…for the most part. He’s happy with his new summer getaway—a rustic
cottage he just bought on a small Wisconsin lake. He’s happy that his ex-wife,
whom he divorced because he couldn’t play straight anymore, has become one of
his best friends. He’s happy he can breathe again.
It’s only Kenneth, Charlie’s boyfriend of five months, who makes this new life less than completely satisfying. Charlie feels they’ve never been quite right for each other, and Kenneth cements that conviction when he makes a disturbing confession. Charlie knows their time together is quickly coming to an end. Problem is, Kenneth doesn’t know it. And he tends to be rather possessive.

This is my heterosexual
week. Mostly ‘cause I still hold a hand full of those books that I love and
collect, which is, and probably only (if I even get them), the ones that are
coming up
(though I wish I could wait
a few months for some of them, since they will defiantly be getting a UK/Aussie
cover closer to date. Oh well, here they are …
The heat is on, and a new threat to
humanity has risen…
Nick has his driver’s license and he’s
not afraid to use it. But turning sixteen isn’t what he thought it would be.
While other boys his age are worried about prom dates and applying for college,
Nick is neck deep in enemies out to stop him from living another day. No longer
sure if he can trust anyone, his only ally seems to be the one person he’s been
told will ultimately kill him.
But life spent serving the undead is
anything except ordinary. And those out to get him have summoned an ancient
force so powerful even the gods fear it. As Nick learns to command and control
the elements, the one he must master in order to combat his latest foe is the
one most likely to destroy him. As the old proverb goes, fire knows nothing of
mercy, and if Nick is to survive this latest round, he will have to sacrifice a
part of himself. However, the best sacrifice is seldom the sanest move.
Sometimes it’s the one that leaves your enemies confused, and you even more so.
And sometimes, you have to trust
your enemy to save your friends. But what do you do when that enemy is you?

Ian
nodded. “If I had someone who looked at me the way you look at him, I’d give
up anything in my life to keep him. When someone like you falls, you fall
hard. And with your best friend, I don’t think anything will be able to shake
that.”

Devin Salvo has always remained
three steps ahead: in chess, on the pitch, and in his love life. His every
desire is within arm's reach, except the one person Devin has always wished
would be his in the end. All it takes is one conversation to open his eyes to a
new possibility, one moment to change what Devin believes about friendship and
love and one person to change the rules of the game.
Sam Marshall has been fighting his
feelings for his friend and roommate for two years. When an opportunity
presents itself, he makes his move, only to be faced with the very real fear
that what he sees in Devin, the potential waiting to be realized, may be more
than their friendship can handle.

Or, you know, just hearing myself talk
This is something new I’m working on (meaning: bear
with me, I’ll get it right, eventually) where once a week/fortnight/month (most
likely the latter) I talk (bitch, whine) about something that gets me thinking,
to get you thinking, maybe just get your feedback/fired up
enough/discussing/telling me how wrong I am (just please leave the whys, I
actually like to know, understand the whys behind it).
It’s nothing new, just a different name for the many
memes out there but this one’s all me. this one is about things that are
important, or not so much that have no real impact or no real meaning but I
like to talk, I like to argue, debate, annoy the piss outta someone until they
blow up in my face, it’s how you learn what you need to about other people in
one night.
Yeah, I’m a love me or hate me personality, forgive
me, but I can’t seem to give a shit, I actually like who I am.
This first
one I’m giving you is fresh in my head since… well, you’ll see.

The books that have been
collecting dust for so long they have become stained from it
This one I got, not realised
that it’s the second book in the series—though it’s written in first party,
which at the time was a turn off. But Lanyon….maybe, if I can be bothered, I
might buy up, and read…’cause, well, it’s Josh Lanyon!!
oh, and I'm trying something new! tell us how you like it?
Actor Sean Fairchild has a
not-so-secret admirer: a psycho stalker who thinks taking out the sexy, shy
young actor will leave the world a better place. His manager insists Sean needs
protection, and Sean's beginning to think he's right.
It's a Hollywood cliché: the hot and handsome bodyguard. But in the case of LAPD Detective Daniel Moran, it's all true. Dan is everything Sean ever wanted in a leading man, but Dan's kind of an old-fashioned guy. It's his job to keep Sean safe and in one piece--happy is someone else's problem.
As tension mounts, Sean can't help turning to Dan, while Dan is finding it harder and harder to say no. Their only chance of a happy ending is if Dan can keep Sean alive--but what happens when he uncovers the secrets Sean is trying hard to conceal?
Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, male/male sexual practices.

A single soft kiss, just a gentle brush of lips…but was it meant as a beginning, or a good-bye?
Every day, Carl Anderson wondered if the man…the vampire…who gave him that kiss would appear in his life again. In that time, he’s worked to come to terms with the existence of vampires, and the dangers they and their enemies pose. Always looking over his shoulder for a vampire or hunter stalking behind him, Carl wishes he could feel safe again, like he did when Egill was at his side.
As a Viking warrior and member of vampire society’s ruling body, the Tribunal, Egill Dalgaard is used to being in control of all things. But months ago, he did something that started to unravel his orderly life. He gave a kiss to a man who he was drawn to, and now, he hasn't been able to stop thinking about. He has his reasons for keeping his distance, but when he sees Carl again, all logical thoughts begin to fade.
When Carl’s actions inadvertently put Egill’s immortal life in danger, Carl must decide which path to take; whether to walk deeper into vampire society, or turn his back on the only man who’s ever made him feel secure.

Keith Malone is incredibly content.
He loves coming around Del Fantasma… great food, great company, and a decent
place to rest his soul when he needs it. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Cody lets
him dust off his carpenter skills with the odd job here and there.
Bailey Mitchell is incredibly
nervous. He's come all this way to San Diego, following up on a chance
encounter that happened months earlier, and now he doesn't know what to do. One
glance and it's obvious Adam's already taken. What's a lonely Siamese shifter
to do?
Drake McKale is incredibly grouchy.
He's sick and tired of every shifter he's run across making fun of him. Hey,
ducks have feelings too! So what if he's smaller than everyone else? Spoiling
for a fight he can actually win, he decides to pick on the shy, little kitty in
the corner. Only, Drake never reckoned the diminutive cat would proposition
