                Synopsis
A notorious gambler, Jack no longer gets a buzz from the risk—or the money—he takes at the card table. In fact, it bores him. Until one night he wins more than he ever bargained for. His prize: Cara Taylor.

She might be down on her luck, but she certainly doesn’t need rescuing by a maverick card-sharp like Jack! Now she’s stuck with him, she doesn’t know whether to love him or loathe him. But, cut from the same cloth, playing Jack at his own game is the most fun she’s ever had!

      my Thoughts (review)
As surprising as this is to say, and I really didn’t think it was going to happen, but I truly enjoyed this book. I like the fact that it wasn’t anything but them getting to know each other, of them falling in love even if one half of them didn’t want to and the other wasn’t acknowledging that part of himself.

I liked the characters, both of them were very good, and even though I couldn’t relate, they both made you sympathise with them. And understand them in a way that makes the way they end up understandable and heart aching.

It was something of a heart squeezer at times, but more so it was just a sweet story.  It starts with a card game that doesn’t go all too well, when Jack is beaten for winner or more so trying to protect the woman that was meant to cheat so he wouldn’t win. So she protects him, taking him out of that place even if it’s a bad for her own health—or more so pocket. This step put them both together.

I really like both the characters, Cara with her independents and strength, to both be herself and help him see things he’s too angry to look at any other way. Jack is closed off and protected about his heart, his soul and though this is all going on, and he’s still shielding himself only his mind is listening to him, and it’s the time and the realisation that’s amazing.

I enjoyed every page of this book, it was about the people. It was quick and the places they weren’t really spoken about, only quick mentions of what’s going on around them, making you only pay attention to them, and not where they are. Which is much more my kind of book than anything that’s about the places. I just don’t care.
