Top Ten Tuesday: Fav Romances

It’s a once a week thing, that I love but hardly cooperate in (though it’s usual for a lot of things), though I thought, since it’s Valentine’s, and this is a great one, and I can’t really think of anything else to add to my magical week (yeah, I said it, but then I’ve been in a long term relationship with a guy that’s just as romance as me—saying, I only care for it in books, he…well, I’d say porn, but I probably watch it more than him.

This Week’s Topic is: Top Ten Favourite Romances
1.     Winter & Christopher from the Moorehawke Trilogy by Celine Kiernan
It’s a great little love story that got my heart all twisted

2.      Lucy & Ed from Graffiti Moon
I guess I just can’t get over the broken noise thing. Awesome

‘[…] I keep looking at that spot. I owe her something for what I did. I think of that Vermeer painting with the scales. You got to weigh something, in the end. Even if it’s not very much. “I like you. I didn’t want you to think I was stupid so I lied. […]”’

3.     Chris & Darien from Faith (Heaven Sent) by Jet Mykles
Like the other boys they are all great, the series, the love lives, but there’s just something about these two men that has my insides melting.

Darien stared at that gorgeous, angular face, besotted. “Say it again.” […]
“I love you.”

  1. Evan & Matt from the Faith Love and Devotion series by Tere Michaels
*sigh*….. really just….*sigh* they’re just…*sigh*

  1. Butch & Vishous from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward
Really people, we are all in love with that bromance. To the soul it’s one of the best relationships in the house
Coming in close second, John & Xhex, and probably would have worked better, but really people…those two men….what could have happened, and yet the way they are now gives them something more…

I want to give mention to the Fallen Angel series, mostly Adrian & Eddie (though, that’s a little sad) and Nigel & Colin.

  1. Nick & Marlow from Reverb by Jet Mykles
There’s something tragically sweet about these two

‘”Damn.” Nick shook his head. Suddenly, his whole body relaxed. Now he understood. After almost three years of fighting it, now he got it. “I never hated you. I think I’ve loved you from the start.”’

7.      Jake & Remi from With Caution by JL Langley
I’m not real sure which one of the two I loved more, but the romance between them…something incredible for a book of instant love. But it works and you fall in love as deeply with them as they do each other.

8.      Andreas & Bobby from Once Burned by Emery Sanborne
I’m not really sure what it is about these boys. The easy going relationship that’s moving along in ways he’s not realising until it’s nearly taken from him. The light-hearted sex scenes, that play, and laugh, and made you as well. Or the way that they just seem to fit.
It’s a relationship that I haven’t read in a long time, not in such a quick story. Not in the way it works. Like anything longer would have ruined the whole thing.

‘[…]”You going to sit back there enjoying the scenery or are you going to fuck me?”
“I don’t know, the scenery’s really good.” Andreas caught Bobby’s hair as Bobby started to move forward. “Oh, no, this is me fucking you, remember?”
“Something tells me you’re not going to let me forget that.”

9.      Darcy & Caleb from Behind Iron Lace  / Liam & Micah from One Night by RJ Scott
Yeah I couldn’t decide. But they are both the same, in a way. That sweet romance that’s going nowhere until it’s there. that’s becoming something like it should, because we don’t mean to fall in love, we just do….

10. Edge & Amber Lily from Edge of Twilight by Maggie Shayne
I guess it’s again, one of my first loves, but Edge…. *sigh* oh Edge.

‘”It’s not the babies,” he told her. “It’s not the situation. It’s not the others. It’s you, Ably. You are…the only woman in all creation for me. You’ve got my heart imprisoned inside yours. You own my soul. If I had to live without you, I think I’d wither and die. I love you, woman. Is that clear enough for you?”’

This is actually a lot harder than it looks. Really, just try thinking about your ten and see how things go…
Anyway, I hope you like my list. Um, if ya want, you should make your own and link it up to the Bookish blog (link with name above), um…. You’re lucky, but I think this is as romantic as I can get. Really, I had to whip out bits of the books that I would rather—and rather like—to put in these ones, since this is about romance, at least to me.

Thanks for the time.
