Plans for March

I’m going to organise a real newsletter if I can find a company I like, watch space

I’m going to create or redo my website because I’m not sure when that will ever be fixed, I haven’t decided where I’ll do that. if I’ll keep my original one or make a new one – I do own a domain name, both for myself and the company (which I’m hoping we will get in the next month or two. But might been looking at an outside of 6 months).

Woohoo! New Month, the Last to be Exact

Welcome to December, the last month of this lovely year.

It’s also the time of year when we stress about how the hell we’re going to find the time to do everything, while buying present (and can we really afford it all?)

It’s the time of year we wonder where the fuck the year went.

It’s even a time one starts to reflex on the past year, one what little we’ve managed to do and think of next year as being better. As the year everything you want will be done.

SO week one REFLECTING ON 2015

This year was an enlightening one for me. I realised I need to write something new and different. That I can’t just produce the same book repeatedly. It saddens me but the realisation allows me to know my limitations. However on the other hand I don’t realise this and though it seems 5 books (this is while reading too) is a limit of the same thing for me I tend to have series that got beyond that.

I have re-realised my love of YA and am starting to do things about that. This is a next year starting but the ideas; the reality of this though started this year. I’m excited. I really can’t wait.  

I have come to a realisation that until my kids are only (say 5 years at the most) I won’t really be a full time writer. Once my children can get themselves off to school without my help that’s when I become full time because I can actually set a schedule that works for me, not one that works around my children.  This is saying that I work better at nights. I like nights better and this will be reflected in that time. As of now, I just can’t give it my all. I am half, or part-time author. This I think is the most important realisation of this year. I am not a full time author I am a full time mother with a part-time job as an author while they are at school.

This means that even though I have always had it in my mind that they come first, that they truly do now. and they are just too young for me not to be there, to be with them full time.

This isn’t to say things will change. I’m still able to pull all-nighters (or a Saturday night) like I have for the last 5 years, but it means I will allow myself a break when the kids need me more. When I need to be a mother more.

I have decided, because well the above, I guess. I will only publish up to 6 books a year in MM and try for 3 in YA. I think that the MM genre needs to learn to settle themselves you can’t complain about the editing while demanding that your fav authors publish a books every month. It’s not possible, and really cliffhanger or not, in the het world you’d still have to wait and effing year. I think we’ve gotten spoiled and as readers, we are the reason that the books we are buying have declined so much. So we need to learn patients again, need to learn to lay off.  Maybe rather than demanding another book from our favourite authors we could, I don’t know, read a couple of those 2K+ books you have in your tbr pile.

I’m going to plan for 6 books a year. If things happen they do, but I will plan and write 6 books a year for the following year – oh yeah that’s another thing, I’m not going to be writing in the year I publish a book. I want to allow my editor a year to edit my stuff. I just… I can’t deal with the stress and so I’m not going to.

What I have PUBLISHED this year

10/Jan – Encounter Space 1: My Outside My Inside

This was published and pulled within a month I believe. I really like the story (and it will be back up, I’m hoping next year). I changed it so it wouldn’t be banned, and I liked how’s it’s changed in a sense that I’ve created a series from it, and I really love the series. however I’m not going to be able to publish it through ARe anymore, so should I have bothered changing it??

Lots a prob with this book, lots of confusing and hatred and embarrassment but next one, which will be coming, is going to be great. I love it, and honestly I do love it now. I do think it’s better. And I can’t wait to write more of this series. or just for you guys to read more

15/March – Moonlit Wolves 7: Protecting My Werewolf

This is the end of the first arc for the series. I’m not sure if you’ll get another book from this series anytime soon. I just…there is so many probs with this series I just can’t find the love to write more.

24/May – My Kevin

I love this book, and I got it edited and re-realised.

 22/June – A Road Worth Travelling, part 1

You WILL be getting the whole version of this book next year. I wanted to do it in parts and I have tried it multiple times there just isn’t enough story to put it into parts without at least 2 of them being cliff-hanger no matter if I push it forward or not.

10/July – Discovery: QSF’s Second Annual Flash Fiction Contest

I put in a short 300 word story as well as a cover to this contest. The cover I submitted came 4th, which is very cool.

1/Sept – Second Pack of Cameron 1: Ben’s Wolf Surprise

My first go at m-preg. I’m hoping for 2 released next year, which will be interesting. I’d like to publish 2 of them a year, and so far I have 5 books in the series.

18/Oct - An April Kelley & Bronwyn Heeley Collection

I published this promotional collection because April couldn’t get it printed, but that’s what it’s meant for.

15/Dec – Moonlit Wolves 7.5: Moonlit Escapades

This is a cute little anthology of all those short story that go along with the series. I wanted originally to publish them into the books, however that wasn’t advised.

THIS WEEK I hope to write. I haven’t for the last 2 weeks and it’s not a pleasant place inside my head when I can’t write.

I also plan on doing a read threw of The Way Life Turns, highlighting areas April and I need to work with in order to go through and make right before it goes into beta editing. But it’s looking okay, not as much as I hope wrong with it. However, I do think, our voices are a bit off. However the events and the time period’s we are both dealing with allow for that. 

I also need to do some promo graphic's for Moonlit Escapades 

And I believe that’s it. Thanks for sticking with me this long.

Its Another Month So Let’s Update

Ok, here’s the run down on what’s what. I’ve had a busy couple of weeks and a busy month to come but I’m feeling good about stuff – lots of crossed off items on my to do list.

First we’ll talk about the past.

I finished off the edits of Taking A Stand and send that off to the anthology call. I’m not sure when I’ll know if it’s in or not, but I got an email back from them. First I thought it was a receipt of them getting the submission as a few sites that I’ve been on have done that. However this one spoke more of wait for more submission before they’d be able to tell us a date.

So have they already accepted it? (it was a few hours afterwards…) are they accepting them all? Or was that just to let me know they’ll wait for the end and then send them off the editor chief who will decide?

Either way I’ll either get an email telling me what’s happening or one telling me the date, lol.

UPDATED NOTE: I looked on the site and they have moved the anthology closing date to the 30th of Dec which has me, well, kinda pissed. We worked so hard in such a short period of time to make the cut off only for them to change it, the day (or 2 days pirer) to submission closing! Saying this the book will be release in either April or August 2017. I will update you with the info in the next couple of months, when I know what’s going on with everything else.

Next I finished book 2 in the Encounter Space series. It’s just over 9K and I think it turned out pretty well. I honestly can’t wait for it to run it’s turn through edits and for you guys to read it.

It’s much more contemporary sci-fi then the first one was and though they are on a space ship. They will all most likely be on the spaceship as I’m not writing anything longer than a 10K story in this series.

Book 3 and 4 will link more than any other books in the series. The next one isn’t going to have human’s in it at all, which to me is going to be interesting all on it’s own. However he is going to be bring a human to them, hence book 4.

But that’s neither here nor there until sometime next year and the year after as, well, I’m only publishing one a year. 

But enough of that let’s move onto what’s happening in October.

First off over on BonyDee blog (click link at the top of the blog) is having a weekly run of flash fiction, every Tuesday, hope you’ll click over there and look, though if you were at my Birthday Bash you’ll find you’re seeing double.

Also a few cover reveals which as pretty so worth sticking around for.

I’ve also created a banner and badge as well and April Kelley listing Proofreading services and as starting up our marketing side.

In writing I’m working on 2 stories through this month

The first one being a story I’m co-writing in a way with April Kelley, we are hoping for a Valentine’s Day release and can’t see why that won’t happen as we are only waiting on my half of the story to be finished. I’m going to try and do over this week and then April needs to write in an epilogue and walla it’s off the beta’s and then into edits.

That’s called The Way life Turns.

Then I want to finish off m-preg—oh sorry Second Pack of Cameron 2: Tentative Steps Forward. Which is at least half way done I just need to go in and fill up the start and then I’ll be able to write the end.

Saying this, as it sits it’s at 13K and I have a good 5K of info I can add into the beginning though I believe I’m going to have to re-write a big chunk, even if I’m not sure how it’s going to work. And I have at least that at the end, if not more, plus a good 2K of baby time.

Anyway as it is I want both of them finished by the end of the month because, well I need to finish 6 stories and I’ve only finished 2 so lots of work to get through.

For November I’m planning on writing the complete A Road Worth Travelling story I want to go in and fill in the start make it more than boys fucking in the bush but actually give them a fighting chance, and then ending it. I was going to in parts but honestly don’t think there’s enough story for that. Or there could be but I’m not a novel writer (yet).

And then…well it’s back into Second Pack of Cameron: Wolf’s Desperate Mate where I’m going to write book 3 and I’m done for my publishing year in 2016 other then the Goodreads MM book which I can’t write until like April.

The Month Is New & So Am I

Ha, classic.

Anyway, it’s a new month, which means my break is over, and I have to start writing again, among a few other things

First with the writing

I ask my FB group and they decided that Second Pack of Cameron: Wolf’s Desperate Mate, which is probably a good thing as from this point on I have a month until the first book in the series comes out and so I’ll find myself thinking about it so much and stressing and just being annoying (to myself).

Anyway, it means I need to have a read of the first book so they line up better with each other. It’s something I should have done with the Moonlit Wolves series but I changed that so many times it wouldn’t have mattered.

It’s something else I’ve gotta think on.

Promoting Ben’s Wolf Surprise

It’s also time that I have to read and organised promotion. It’s not looking like I’m going to be able to afford a blog tour, which means I’ll have to leave that off till the end of the year, or start it next one.

Anyway, it means I need to do my own, and I need to do something better than what I did before. Or, at least I should. So I want to create a few things to put around the place so people will actually know it’s coming out.

Should be interesting, get some good quotes, and have some cute baby wolves. Even if you don’t actually get to meet one in these book.

The next one’s going to be different, probably bigger, learn more stuff. Hell, just the plot of the story makes this one a bit longer than the other, but we will be having at least one puppy in its pages.

I’m really looking forward to getting back to this world

Reading and Books

This is the month were things need to get back to normal. Or as normal as I can get it I suppose.

This means I will start reading a book during the day and write at night. I’m hoping to start with One Bit At A Time by Sydney Presley or Bulls and Blood by TA Chase, and then we’ll see.

I write better at night.
