shh....

So I did it again, went into a friggin book shop (Dymocks, Penrith) and I got two books, though one of them I did want since I saw a strip or two from the comic created from the series, and the other--I couldn't stop myself. yeah, tell me about it, I need some control over myself, I know, but anyway, let me show you what I got.

first up is Storm Born by Richelle Mead

Just typical. No love life to speak of for months, then all at once, every horny creature in the Otherworld wants to get in your pants...
Eugenie Markham is a powerful shaman who does a brisk trade banishing spirits and fey who cross into the mortal world. Mercenary, yes, but a girl's got to eat. Her most recent case, however, is enough to ruin her appetite. Hired to find a teenager who has been taken to the Otherworld, Eugenie comes face to face with a startling prophecy--one that uncovers dark secrets about her past and claims that Eugenie's first-born will threaten the future of the world as she knows it.
Now Eugenie is a hot target for every ambitious demon and Otherworldy ne'er-do-well, and the ones who don't want to knock her up want her dead. Eugenie handles a Glock as smoothly as she wields a wand, but she needs some formidable allies for a job like this. She finds them in Dorian, a seductive fairy king with a taste for bondage, and Kiyo, a gorgeous shape-shifter who redefines animal attraction. But with enemies growing bolder and time running out, Eugenie realizes that the greatest danger is yet to come, and it lies in the dark powers that are stirring to life within her...

Okay, so this is book one from her Dark Swan series, it came out in 2008. the rest of the series has Thorn Queen (came out 2009), Iron Crowned (came out 2011) and coming in 2012 is Shadow Heir.
As far as I'm awear this is a adults book, paranormal romance says the description on FantasticFiction. and I'm actually really looking forward to reading it.
A Book Review on her YA series, Vampire Academy, because, well, why not.

also I got, Envy by J. R. Ward

As the son of a serial killer, homicide detective Thomas ‘Veck’ Delvecchio Jr grew up in the shadow of evil. Now, on the knife-edge between civic duty and blind retribution, he atones for the sins of his father—while fighting his inner demons.

Assigned to monitor Veck is Internal Affairs officer Sophia Reilly, whose interest in him is both professional and arousingly personal. And Veck and Sophia have another link: Jim Heron, a mysterious stranger with too many answers to questions that are deadly. When Veck and Sophia are drawn into the ultimate battle between good and evil, their fallen angel saviour is the only thing that stands between them and eternal damnation.

this is book three in the Fallen Angel series, the first two being Covet (2009) and Crave (2010). this book was the 'cause I couldn't' book, and yeah, I can't really help it that much, I'm a huge Ward fan, at least in my own rights, I wouldn't say I'd go gargar over her, or her books, or anything like that but, yeah, fan I am.

so there the new books, and yeah, just a bounch to add to my list of books on my bookself, I'm running out of room, but it's all good, I'm sure I still find somewhere to put'em all.
thanks for the time, and the love.

because I can

and I kinda like a good bitch of an afternoon, don't you guys?

So, if you haven't already read, I went into a book shop today, Dymocks, I'm a freakin' gold member, funny as it is, I like bought nearly the whole Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, in one lot--I think it was nearly fifteen books, and before that one I bought the others, it was a fun month, but still, I bought all that and then stopped, and a month later I am a freakin gold member, funny as fuck, really. It’s like they want me to keep buying shit from them or something.

But not the point, though really, rambling is something I'm good at and you all should know that by now.

So I go into the three major places to buy book in the Plaza (Dymocks, Target and BigW) at least once a month, if not twice, just to see (promise, though mostly I come out with something or other, 'cause I'm a shit)

Sorry, it seems I'm in a mood and I'm having trouble not swearing, and here I am warning ya.

so I went in there and the books the things that jumped out at me were, Dark Predator by Christine Feehan, and it was in a shitty full size paperback, now this is why it's still in my head, because I hate full size paperback, I hate them so much that I have like three books I really want to get but I won’t for another year because I'm waiting for them to down size, mid size I love, small, can deal with but why oh why do we have to have full size ones. like really, I don't mind them if they were in hardback, but us Australians apparently love the full size paperback, or I was talking to my local book (Turning Pages in Springwood) shop lass and she told me that that what we like. She also told me it was because of the larger print. hell I a book, um... my last full size, ah, yes, Embraced by blood by Laurie London and the thing had font you would see in a ten year old book, no jock, I kinda thought it should have had pic's in it.

so yeah, it's also not something I care all that much in, and yet I so do, mostly just when I want a book, and I'm not going to wait until it comes down a size, like... well, I only have two series, 3 now if you put in the one I was just saying, that I will get in full size, the others will just have to wait a little long, it's not like I'm not use to the waiting, while everyone is talking about them.

Anyway, the other reason that Dark Predator caught my eye and has stayed in my head is because this is a excellent way for me to show you how I'm not really an author fan rather a series fan. I don't like that series, I read the first one, Dark Prince and it was so... just the exactly the same as every other paranormal romance I have pick up that I was over the book by chapter two, and though I read the whole thing, I just couldn’t get over the fact that it... yeah, it just didn't do a thing for me. I...yeah.

The thing is though I love her Leopard people series, they are awesome, and have become my books to look out for; I can't wait for the next one, and the one after that. It’s funny but it happens with all the authors that I'm a fan of; I only tend to like one of their series. Really, the only person that I have read more than one is J. R. Ward, and Gena Showalter cause I liked her Atlantis series as well as Lords of the Underworld. But I can't read her YA books or Alien Huntress series. There’s also Sherrilyn Kenyon, I love three of her series (dark-hunter, Chronicles of Nick, but then there really the same aren't they? oh, and her Belador series that she writes with Dianna Love) but I can't find myself wanting to read any of her others ones.

Anyway, you guys don't particularly care about all this shit, do ya? So I'll be off. Later

book review, massish (fallen angel series)

Seven deadly sins, seven souls to save
Fallen Angel series, by J. R. Ward

                                   Covet                                                       (read: 30/June/2011)
Prod dets: fallen angel series, book one
 Pub: 2009, Penguin group, USA
Author: J. R. Ward
Cat: angels/ paranormal romance
Format: paperback; has 474 pages w/ 44 chapters
Whose: Vin & Marie-Terese

Synopsis: Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about-his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charge with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. And failure is not an option.
Vin DiPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he's good with that—until fate intervenes in the form of a tough-talking, Harley-riding, self-professed savoir. But then he meets a woman who will make him question his destiny, his sanity, and his heart-and he has to work with a fallen angel to win her over and redeem his own soul.

Review: so, I have to get this out, before I do this book, but being that I’m not that great a fan of angel crap, and the even though her black dagger brotherhood series, is like my fav and this didn’t have anything on it, it was a great ride. Like seriously, I read the book in a day, and being that it’s been sitting on my shelf for like nearly a year, without my interest, its saying a lot that I actually got into it as much as I did.
So the series, is about Jim, about the fact that he has to save seven souls or end the world, tough gig, but as the book goes on he seems perfect for the part, and he’s a great character to be in the head of, along with Eddie the peacekeeper, in a very real way and Adrian, the loud mouth muverfucker who lives life like it’s never going to end. Oh, and Dog—but really he’s just a dog. they are great, and though it didn’t get into their characters more than the initial meeting, the book has the feel that they are going to be there for the long haul, they are kinda the reason you want to pick up the next, you want to know more about them, get to know them.
So it’s set in the same place as the black dagger series, and Traz is even in this book, but then why wouldn’t he be when one of the people who fall in love is Marie-Terese, who works for him (though it is set after ZeroSum is gone, so....
Okay, so this book, was about Vin, a man who had everything after his childhood was so fucked-up, but it was fated to be the way it was, or helped and it’s really all about him waking up, smelling the roses and fixing what was broken –  though that was easy when he looked into her eyes. Though that’s not easy when those eyes hold a past all to themselves and one that she didn’t even know was a problem until it was too late.
Shit get’s tight more towards the end, and it does tend to have a little bit of a drag factor to it, and like I’m writing, it’s got that same feel to it as the brotherhood novels, though these guys females aren’t as... anyway, maybe they (shit, stop! – that ones to me guys)
So yeah, the recap and all, it’s a great book, even if you’re not that into angels and a must read for all fans of the author.

And...                        Crave                                                                 (read: 3/July/2011)
Prod dets: fallen angel series, book two
Pub: 2010, Penguin group, USA
Format: paperback; 454 pages with 53 chapters
Whose: Isaac & Grier

Synopsis: The battle between good and evil has left the future of humanity in the hands of a reluctant savoir and his band of fallen angels. Seven deadly sins that must be righted. Seven souls that must be saved.
While his first task was success, Jim Heron is battling a demon that can take any form for the soul of someone he must identify on his own. If that weren't enough, his old boss Matthias wants Jim to assassinate an AWOL member of The Firm - Isaac, the man Jim is pretty sure he is supposed to save. Jim knows firsthand that once you're in The Firm, there's no getting out. But when Jim finds Isaac to warn him, he has been picked up by the police for illegal street fighting, and it is clear that Isaac is falling for his gorgeous public defender. Is their love the redemption that will save Isaac's soul? Or has the demon Devina set an elaborate trap?

Review: so this book has like six people view, which was kinda weird, but still it all made sense. Okay, so the series main part was just another step, a part that was scary and one that made you smile your understanding and hope it well for team heaven. Then there’s the two that this particular book is on. Issac a huge arm assassin, and the lovely Grier, his layer, the connection of that first look and... well that was it... fated.
Anyway, it was a great book, one that was not so much as great as the first one, but better in a way that was surprising. I really enjoyed it and was more than ecstatic when the characters didn’t fall into the same as her brotherhood ones, and yet the writing style is the same.

Next: Envy (review within the week)
