This blood smelled too dark. Too thick.
There was too much of something in it that wasn’t human. But it was still blood, and it drew her even thought she knew the wrongness of it deep in her soul.
Dangerous secrets come between Zoey and Stevie Rae, putting the House of Night at great risk, Stevie Rae, with her super red vamp powers, thought she could handle keeping stuff from her BFF, but her latest secret is a big one. Zoey’s left with trust issues while she needs her friends – and boyfriends – like never before.
Zoey banished malevolent immortal Kalona from Tulsa, but the battle is far from over. He now seeks power at the highest levels, and the vampire High Council is falling under his thrall. Without Zoey’s help, the world could still burn in the fiery hell of Aphrodite’s visions. And will Zoey’s connection with A-ya, a Cherokee maiden who tempted Kelona in ages, help or hinder her resistance to the dangerously seductive immortal?
Two girls walk tightrope between good and evil. And their choices will see everything they love saved – or destroyed.
The only thing in this book that made it worth reading was Stevie Rae and Rephaim, the raven mockers, part in the book. Seriously, to me this whole story line is wearing, and even though Zoey’s and Starks – even Heaths – part is vital, needed more than any other part in the book, that I can see. Stevie Rae’s is the only one that is actually interesting enough to make you keep on reading it.
So Zoey and a few of her friends – actually all except Stevie Rea end up out of the country to try and convince the high council that he isn’t an angel, even though Zoey believes he is. Stark is jealous of Heath and what he means to Zoey. The end in this book for Zoey is not great but like I said, not the greatest of the story lines.
Stevie Rae ended up helping the raven mocker as he lay dying outside the church, she should have just left him, called the others, but she couldn’t, something about him made her help save him. But ended up causing all types of problems when the evil red-vamps find out about him and use him to kill her, only that doesn’t happen and she ends up... well you really should read the book to find out. I honestly don’t want to ruin it for you.
