MANGA REVIEW, One Piece vol 64

One Piece vol 64, Story & Art by Eiichiro Oda
Chapters 627: Thank You to chapter 636: General from Futureland
Teen Pirates
As a child, monkey D. Luffy dreamed of becoming King of the Pirates. But his life changed when he accidentally gained the power to stretch like the cost of never being able to swim again! Years later, Luffy sets off in search of the “One Piece,” said to be the greatest treasure in the world....

100,000 Vs. 10.
With their queen dead, the people of Fish-Man Island carry on her will and hope to one day achieve her dreams. But Hody Jones and the New Fish-Man pirates have other ideas, including ruling the kingdom themselves. The fate of Fish-Man Island will rest on Luffy’s shoulders, but will he destroy it instead?

Last time
Having finished their two years of training, the Straw Hat crew reunites on the Sabaody Archipelago. They set sail more determined than ever to reach the New World!
The Straw Hats finally reach Fish-Man Island but are quickly ambushed by the New Fish-Man Pirates. Luffy and his crew then hear from Jimbei why the Fish-Man hate humans. One reason is that the death of their hero, Fisher Tiger, was caused by humans. Another part of the story concerned Queen Otohime, who worked to bring humans and Fish-Men together until she was assassinated. Shirahoshi and her siblings inherited their mother’s will, but....

This time
we finish with the flash back by Jambi and we get all side of Fish-Man island as they set up and start the fight that will see the king dead or Luffy the winner.

Though it’s a little messy and full on, that’s how the start of these battles are because there’s so much that needs to be said and shown before we can branch off and get into the guts of the battle—yeah, I can’t wait (but then I never can)
We still don’t really learn anything about the crew except some of the cool things they can do, especially when it comes to Franky, Robin and Brook.

When we continues...
The battle over Fish-Man Island escalates as the Straw Hat pirates take on Hody Jones and his minions. Luffy may be strong thanks to his new training, but how can he defeat a Fish-Man underwater? Especially since water is his greatest weakness!
On sale November 2012!
