Pimping a Professional #2

This is fully and completely my own work.
I have not been asked by anyone to put in or say anything in this posting
All quote & pics come from author website and/or goodreads

first up, if anyone is taking the title in as anything but fun, please tell me, since I don't want to offend anyone.

So, as I thought this up, but didn’t really seem to be thinking all that clearly.
The first of the many things to think about came to a halt with one question: who do I do first?
Well, it made it simple with the fact that I’m a little anal when it comes to the books I own, and I have a file that has them all listed in alphabetical order, so, well, I thought I’d just start there.
And my first name… Derek Adams

He wasn’t all that hard to find, first, because with most authors, you can just go on goodreads and find their main website, but I wanted to do this the google way as well—he was 4th down—the first time I checked (he shares a name with a former Scottish footballer).

Welcome to the world of Derek Adams, one of gay erotica's most prolific and talented writers. Whether you are seeking M/M romance, intrigue, or steamy passion, this award-winning author will hold your attention with his gripping tales of love and lust.

When you first click onto his site there’s a pic of a males chest, I’m not really sure why I’m telling you this, it’s just that’s it’s there, surrounded by mustard yellow (I think it’s called) all topless (point out about the site, this topless man, is actually the ‘home’ label)

Okay, so the whole site, has a lot of pics of naked man, stylish (no junk). And very simple in design and information. Though it isn’t bad, it’s seems very thrown together.

Derek Adams is best known (okay, maybe not, I’m really not sure) for his series of humorous erotic novels featuring Detective Miles Diamond

I haven’t read it, I’m not that big a fan of crime and, well, I’ve read another crime novel of his and it gave me very little interest in heading down that road (honestly, I’m not saying there’s anything bad about them, I’m sure there great, but there’s only one person I will willing read that’s crime base)

I have, however, read a few of his short stories

Long, Slow Burn                      a straight guy finding out his gay with a bush fire
One the Midway                     merry-go-round, lightning and I think he’s unconscious (3some)
Rick and Famous                     robbery
An Early Christmas                 the chef and the homeless kid on his doorstep
Gracia and Me                        the small dude with a huge dick and the guy his bff wants to dump
The Drive                                getting into an accident and coming out centuries before his time
And to all a Good Night          old dude and the homeless kid from across the street

My favourite of these all featured the same type of main, and a reason that I will keep reading the books and again and again.
There’s just something, about the way he describes muscle bound men that actually makes them seems attractive, when I wouldn’t look twice at one.
Along with a sweetness to sex, that sometimes just works a little better when in the hands of a male, rather than the erotic porn from a female.
(sometimes there really is a difference)

The only full length novel (and just first) of his that I have read is Jake Westerby: Deep Undercover

Which is about bulging muscles, thick veins and squishy flesh.
I reviewed the book, check it here.

Looking back, I believe that I liked the book, or at least I liked parts of it—mostly the sex. The story line was good, but it was a crime novel and he just couldn’t keep me interested in it. Which is kinda funny since it was a crime book about the sex industry.
I have this feeling that the reason that I didn’t get fully involved, or interested was because I’m a romance person, and though I’m not huge on crime, I can read it if the action is more about the couple. And though this one is, they are only really together once or twice threw the whole books, and I’m not just talking sex together, I’m talking, actually interrelation between the two of them was very minimum even as the book was classically an erotic about these two men’s love lives.
And you don’t really care, but the thing is, I do like Adams style of writing, though I prefer to read it in his short novels I know if I found a plot in one of his stories that I could settle deep into I wouldn’t let the thing go.
Sometimes you just need a very…in-depth look into sex, and Adams does it without a question. He also is great at capturing the essence of the moment of sex. You lose yourself just like the characters do, and isn’t that what’s important?

To Be Read pile: Witness Protection

Which is about, I’m really hoping, exactly what it says it’s about. I think Adams could actually do a good job with this ones, even if the homophobic ‘cause I’m really gay can be a horrid storyline, if it’s done back—but then, at least they have a reason… right?!

Okay, so I actually read this, like to a point that I should just take this part out and start over, but I can’t be bothered.
It’s about a kid whose had some rough times falling in love, and it’s done in a cabin as the guy is been put into witness protection. I didn’t get anything out of this book that I didn’t expect, and I say this in a good way. I wanted a quick read filled with muscled men and spongy cocks, and that’s actually what I got. Which is the reason why I love ready Adams. Honestly, I have a small kink for bears that needs taken care off, though maybe not that muscular, but he does it so well, making them the hottest men in the room.
And this one had a hair bastard that turned into a teddy bear. And I liked it. kinda wanna start it all over again.
—this is probably the size of book that I could get behind and read a hell of a lot more of, from him. running ‘round 50 pages.

Now, that’s all I think, but I’ve defiantly gotten myself a few more books on my wish list when I’m in the mood for short and sweet.

Find out more about him, and his books through:

I hope that was an adequate look into the author’s world. I’m hoping that I will get better but I doubt things will change anytime soon. I’m not overly smart, but I’ll try my best and at the end of the day it’s all there is.

Thanks for your time.
