Matt and Paul from Love Without
Knowing It
It was always nerve-wracking
sitting in a doctor’s office. Always the same things tried to push themselves
into Paul’s head even as it drowned them out by repeating the same bullshit
over and over
It
was going to be okay. Matt was going to be fine.
And he was. That’s the thing.
This was just a routine check-up. The only reason he was here with Matt was
because he’d had the day off and they were going to the movies after.
“Matthew,” came the doctor’s
voice.
“You comin’?”
“What me to?” Matt nodded.
“Then yes.” he got up and they headed into the doctors room.
It didn’t take them long to
come back out. The whole sitting in the waiting room longer then you’re with
the doctor working it’s magic.
The relief though, when they
walked out made everything worth it. Matt was free and fine and he wouldn’t
have to be back for another 2 years for more testing. Unless something came up,
but really that was what doctors said to cover their arses.
Paul couldn’t keep the grin
off his face as they headed toward the car. And once they’d reached the semi
privacy of the in-closed space he pulled Matt in close and kissing him hard.
Happy and light and feeling the stress and worry he’d been holding on his
shoulders come off.
Matt chuckled once they pulled
away, and turned towards the steering wheel, car on and backed out.
“So food or movies first?”
“Hm…you hungry?”
“Meh, I could eat but popcorn
would tie me over if need be.”
“Yeah same here, so your
choice.”
“Nah-uh, birthday boy’s
choice.”
Paul sighed. He had actually
forgotten it was his birthday. Hoped Matt would have too. “Fine, let’s go see
what times it’s on and decide then.”
Matt laughed. “There one the
same time as they were when we looked it up and we can still make the first
without a prob.”
“Urgh. Fine, let’s eat first.”
“Okay, where to.”
Paul narrowed his eyes.
“You’re really starting to annoy me.”
Matt laughed. The arsehole.
But it was who he was and Paul was still too happy. So happy the man he loved
was okay. Was better than okay. He was healthy and great and that was
everything to Paul
