Synopsis
Possessed
by the demon of Defeat, Strider cannot lose a challenge without suffering
unimaginable pain. For him, nothing stands in the way of victory. Until Kaia,
an enchanting Harpy who tempts him to the razor’s edge of surrender.
Known
among her people as The Disappointment, Kaia must bring home the gold in the
Harp Games—or die. Strider is a distraction she can’t afford, because he has an
agenda of his own: steal first prize—an ancient godly artefact—before the
winner can be named. But as the competition heats up, only one prize will
matter—the love neither had thought possible...
Thoughts
This
book was great and yet it was a little disappointing in a none disappointing
way. Maybe it was because I thought differently of both characters, and yet the
way they handled things was great, their relationship between then threw the
books (this is Strider & Kaia I’m talking about)
The
games two were a little, well, pussy, but I think if she went more into the
actually fighting the books would have a different feel to them then romance.
But saying this, the talk threw it got my laughing more times than anything,
man, Harpy’s are the funniest creatures out there.
I
love the story, more so than a lot of the others, and yet it wasn’t the
greatest of the story in the series. Saying this, man it’s good, the bickering,
the...courting, threw the book was great, between them, but we all knew that it
would be, they are great on their own, in their story they are something a
little more, and yet not so much.
The
two other stories that ran through this or the glimpse of the stories that are
coming up were actually the greatest, really the first glimpse into all the
four other characters was enough to whet the appetite for more, and even though
I normally don’t like others stories that are so much different than the story
at hand she did it in a way that made me want the book more. And the little
bits of them weren’t to overplayed that they made them boring, but more so just
right...
Really
I can’t wait till the book after the next one.
So recap,
‘cause I don’t even know what I was really saying is that the book was good.
They go to the harpy games when they haven’t been allowed for centuries. So
‘cause of the games Kaia (or all harpies’) needs her consort, problem, Strider
doesn’t want to be him, yeah there’s heaps of reason and all of them, I
guess... good? Anyway, he goes,
‘cause, well, it’s a romance and really it’s there book and all.
So
he goes and their passion ignites and his thoughts and needs for her change
needs change and the pride of each becomes something all together different
when they try and win something that they have been looking for from the
beginning (I think, honestly can’t really remember all that much).
This
book was great and made you want so much more, she just gets better and better
when it comes to getting your attention for the books to come. Really, they
were literally glimpses and that’s what makes you really want to know more,
isn’t it.
