[Should read someone else review on this one ‘cause mine isn’t
all that great]
my Thoughts (review)
First thought: (round page 170) she just went
back to being what she was—weird, like there wasn’t any growth at all, even
though she was getting there. It was bad, even if it’s not seeming to be so,
but it’s like the book, or more so her,
just started up again.
ÔÕÖ×Ø
So, this is the book that got him
his kingdom back—oh, sorry that might have been a bit of a spoiler but really,
that’s what this book is about and so much more...
More so, it’s about a prophecy about
a sorceress and a demon, which isn’t all that great news, even more so for the
fact that she’s a bit touchy when it comes to things like emotions towards
others and you know, telling the truth, not stealing—basically what all the
female characters are like.
And I’m going to stop here. Mostly because
I haven’t gotten to a point where ‘this book was great’ honestly it’s not in my
vocab when thinking on it, but then I think it’s because I never cared all that
much for either character in previous books, and more so for them within the
first few minutes. The only time I truly enjoyed it, or felt any real emotion
was near the end and that was when it was about him and his brother.
Still, it wasn’t bad, a nice look at
a different sort of world and all that still for some reason it came from the
fact that there was more annoying shit in this book than anything else and so
nothing was overlaid. Nothing that made the bad seemed less, well, bad.
You want to know what they were?
(probly not—but I’m going to tell you anyway) one it’s the thing about the height
(but I have this one threw the series it’s just that this one annoyed me and
because of that I felt as if that was more pushed into my head more than anything
else—but seriously it’s annoying.
Second and this is one for this book
only, and something that I spoke about above. She was doing well, and then out
of nowhere she just...well, went back to being what she was at the beginning,
it was almost like the story started all over again. It was annoying, because
she’s not the most pleasant of female characters I’ve ever read about.
And third, which isn’t anything that
bad, but something I hate the most in books, come on its nearly as bad as them
name dropping or putting real people in as characters (this I find always
happens to me when I read historical crap). Anyway, this isn’t the point. She
dropped the Lords of the Underworld in her book, and yeah I know that both
authors are friends or some shit, but please.... was it really needed.
So I’m sorry that this has become
something more unpleasant than I thought it would be, and really I should delete
it all and play nice, but I can’t, with anything, it’s a only type crap with me
and this book wasn’t all that great, it was writing with the greatness of Cole
but the story and more so the characters just rubbed me the wrong way for no
real reason I can see.
