Synopsis
Captian
Kuro of the Black Cat Pirates was the most feared evil genius on the high
seas...until he vanished. Most people believe he’s dead, but only his crew
knows the truth: Captian Kuro has been lying low in a small seaside village,
posing as a mild-mannered bulter until the time for pillage is just right. now
that time has come, and the ruthless Black Cat Pirates are about to attack....
Unless,
of course, Monkey D. Luffy can stop them! All Luffy has on his side are his
sword-wielding first mate, Zolo; his thieving navigator, Nami; Usopp, a local
kid with a knack for telling lies; and his own bizarre rubber-limbed powers. If
these four amateur pirates want to stop the entire Black Cat crew, they’ll have
to come up with a pretty slick plan....
Catch up....Monkey
D. Luffy started out as just a kid with a dream—and that dream was to become
the greatest pirate in history! Stirred by the tales of pirate “Red-Haired”
Shank, Luff vowed to become a pirate himself. That was before the enchanted
Devil Fruit gave Luffy the power to stretch like rubber, at the cost of being
unable to swim—a serious handicap for an aspiring sea dog. Undeterred, Luffy
sat out to sea and recruited a couple of crewmates: master swordsman Zolo and
treasure-hunting thief Nami.
After
stopping at a tiny seaside village for food and supplies, Luffy and his crew
have landing at the centre of a pirate plot. For three years, the evil genius
Captain Kuro has been posing as a mild-mannered butler to steal the fortune of
a sickly girl named Kaya. At dawn, Kuro’s followers, the Black Cat Pirates,
will invade the village, plunder it—and kill Kaya! Fortunately, a local boy
named Usopp has learned Kuro’s plot. Unfortunately, Usopp is famous as the
town’s biggest liar....
My thoughts....so this ones the middle of
the battle—or maybe more so the start, being that Luff and crew along with
Usopp wait for the pirates to come to land....only problem, they were waiting
at the wrong one (I mention this bit, because it’s funny as hell and has stuck
in my mind more than any part of the book.
So we start the beginning fight
with both hypnotist and the cat brothers, which is more Zolo’s thing being that
the hypnotist actually knocks Luff out for a huge chuck of this book—though saying
all that Uposs does start the battle and ends up knocked the F out!
We end this one with Kaya
showing up because that’s where Kuro—her butler is and she wants to off him,
but she doesn’t have it in her so she ends up running with Usopp’s crew.
When it continues....what
does it mean to be a real pirate? That question will be decided once and for
all as the battle for the village reaches its climax. Zolo duels with Butchie
and Siam...Usopp’s pirates race to save Kaya...and Luffy, of course, goes
one-on-one against Captian Kuro!
