Baroque works part 3 of

As
a child Monkey D. Luffy dreamed of becoming King of the Pirates. But his life
changed when he accidentally gained the power to stretch like rubber...at the
cost of never being able to swim again! Years later, Luffy sets off in search
of the “One Piece”, said to be the greatest treasure in the world....
Instinct
Someone
has given Dorry the Giant exploding ale and he’s not happy! Assuming it was
Luffy and crew; he launches an all-out attack and is soundly defeated by the
rubbery power of the Gum-Gum Rocket! But mystery is afoot—if Luffy didn’t slip
the giant the exploding brew, just who did?
Catch up....
Monkey D. Luffy started out as just a kid with a dream—and that dream was to
become the greatest pirate in history! Stirred by the tales of pirate
“Red-Haired” Shank, Luff vowed to become a pirate himself. That was before the
enchanted Devil Fruit gave Luffy the power to stretch like rubber, at the cost
of being unable to swim—a serious handicap for an aspiring sea dog. Undeterred,
Luffy sat out to sea and recruited a couple of crewmates: master swordsman Zolo
and treasure-hunting thief Nami and lying sharp-shooter Usopp, and Sanji, the
high-kicking chef.
Having
finally reached the Grand Line, Luffy and crew sail to Whisky Peak, where they
are wined and dined by the locals. But the village turns to be the lair of the
secret criminal organization Baroque Works! Princess Nefeltari Vivi of Alabasta
(Ms. Wednesday) and Igaram (Mr. 8) have infiltrated Baroque Works in order to
destroy it. Meanwhile, Mr. 5 and Ms. Valentine have been sent to kill them. But
before the Officer Agents can accomplish their deadly mission, Zolo intervenes—thanks
to Nami’s greed. After the battle, the princess explains that Baroque Works’
true aim is to overthrow of Alabata. Then she accidentally divulges the
identity of Baroque Works’ leader!!
Now
hunted prey, our heroes sail for Alabasta to return Princess Vivi to her
kingdom. But first they must face the perils of the mysterious island of Little
Green!
What happens....Vol 14, when we start this one, Luffy is
about to hit one giant of a man (literally) because of an explosive barrel of
grog the giants got of Luffy’s ship.
We
meet Mr 3—who can create wax, turning everything into wax statues & Mrs.
Golden Week—who can change your moods threw her colour paints.
This
one is about Luffy and gang defeating those two; it goes all the way through this
book really ending it, but not quite.
Straight Ahead!!—Vol 15,
the giants are both alive and arguing again. Sanji intercepts a phone call from
Mr Zero (the leader of Baroque works) telling them the Straw Hats Pirates were
all dead. There’s a back story to the giants—it’s not long. they we on the sea
again and Nami is sick though she’s trying not to be because as it is they are
in a rush to get to Vivi’s home Alabata.
But
instead Vivi insist they need Nami well and so they look for a doctor. Moment—because
that’s how it works with Luffy—we hit snow and a ship eating pirate, but it
doesn’t take long for them to get past it and sail into the port of a very
unwelcome though that turns again and they are in search of a witch doctor.
The
guys split up, Luffy, Nami and Sanji are headed to the castle on the top of the
mountains. Where they run into giant rabbits that don’t want them there. Vivi
and Usopp stay in town, but when they learn that the witch is in a town they go
in search of her. And Zolo stays on the boat, strengthen himself.
We
end this volume with the coward king coming back to take over. And them all
screaming ‘AVALANCHE!!!!’
Carrying on his will—Vol
16, an avalanche is raining terror, Luff, Nami and Sanji
are trying there hardest to stay alive while on the mountain (they are the
reason the giant rabbits started it) they make it to the top with the heap of
(they don’t know yet) a reindeer, and the witch helps them all get better. But
it’s never that simple with Luffy and he and Sanji are up and about long before
the witch doctor thought they should have. Nami gets instantly better and yet
she’s not allowed to leave for 3 days until her treatment is finished.
The
king is trying to get to the top of the mountain.
Luffy
tried to recruit the old (130yr old) lady as his doctor, but she won’t and in a
very different won’t than all the rest of his crew. They sorta fight with the reindeer,
and then they fight the old king. Oh,
plus there’s Chopper’s back story—which ends this volume....
Hiriluk’s cherry
blossoms—Vol 17, we come into this vol with Luffy fighting
the old king who has eaten the devil fruit that lets him change into anything
he eats (anything) he can even make others into something more, making two into
one.
In
town the 12 doctors help save the leader after Zolo turns up nearly naked and
freezing—he fights and destroys all the soldiers and takes there jacket, then
the towns people head up to help Luffy.
The
reindeer fights the kings two seconds who end up being one. Luffy is so
entertained and happy about what the reindeer can do that he lose the king only
to find him again after he bumps into Nami.
The
reindeer decides to go—it’s not a happy ending. The snow falls pink and they
are off with a new friend to go and save Vivi’s home country.
Ace Arrives—Vol 18,
heading to Alabasta Luffy and crew are starved (mostly because Luffy, Copper
and the duck ate it all) but they can’t seem to catch anything (again, because
they ate the bait) they run into some volcanic fog and end up catching Mr. 2
Bon Clay, not that they now this until after he leaves with an ability to
change into all of the crew (except Sanji, and because he ate the devil fruit
that allows him to copy people).
They
land on the island and Luffy runs off to find food, which basically saves his
brother from Captain Smoker (the navy leader whose after him and crew), he runs
from them, heading straight for his crew who had just finished getting supplies
and so they all end up on the run from the navy—Luffy’s big brother Ace helps
them leave.
Mostly
this is the start of the next major battle he’s heading into, the one with Mr
Crocodile. So it’s a little complex and I can’t really be bothered going into
it. Mostly this one is about the start of their travels to get to him
Rebellion—Vol 19,
this one has them still travelling. They get caught by Crocodile, but Vivi and
Sanji save them (or more so Sanji) then they have to go and help stop the
rebels fighting the king’s men because Mr 2 looked like the king and went and provoked
them into it.
This
one end with them on a giant crap (thanks to Copper) and Luffy saving Vivi from
Mr. Cocodile by taking her place when he tried to take her.
When we continue....wanting a little one-on-one
time with Luffy, Crocodile pulls him aside for a private showdown. Faced with
battling on the sand pirate’s own turf, does Luffy even stand a chance?!
Meanwhile, the rest of the gang soldiers on the Alubarna where the Officer
Agents have been lying in wait for them outside the city gates. Before Vivi can
stop the rebellion that will destroy her country, she and the Strw Hats will have
to get past the gatekeepers first!
