Synopsis
As
a child, monkey D. Luffy dreamed of becoming King of the Pirates. But his life
changed when he accidentally gained the power to stretch like rubber...at the
cost of never being able to swim again! Years later, Luffy sets off in search
of the “One Piece,” said to be the greatest treasure in the world....
ADVENTURE ON GHOST ISLAND
When
the Strw Hats encounter a mysterious barrel on the open sea, little do they
know that it’s a trap. Losing control of their ship, they’re steered toward
Thriller Bark.
Any
rational sailor would think twice before going ashore on an island full of
zombies. But with Luffy at the helm, the Straw Hats are in for a scare as they
become the targets of the dreaded Gecko Moria!
Catch up....
Monkey D. Luffy started out as just a kid with a dream—and that dream was to
become the greatest pirate in history! Stirred by the tales of pirate
“Red-Haired” Shank, Luffy vowed to become a pirate himself. That was before the
enchanted Devil Fruit gave Luffy the power to stretch like rubber, at the cost
of being unable to swim—a serious handicap for an aspiring sea dog. Undeterred,
Luffy sat out to sea and recruited a couple of crewmates: master swordsman Zolo
and treasure-hunting thief Nami and lying sharp-shooter Usopp, and Sanji, the
high-kicking chef; Chopper, the walkin’ talkin’ reindeer doctor: and the
mysterious archaeologist Robin.
After
many adventures, Luffy and his crew travel to Water Seven, the city of
shipwrites. Their goal: to find a shipwright to join their crew and to get a
new ship, since their old ship, the Merry
Go, is so badly damaged. Things go wrong when Robin is captured by the
secret government organization CP9, which wants to use her archaeological
knowledge to deciper the blueprint for the ancient weapon Pluton. In a fierce
battle, Luffy and his crew invade the government base of Enie Lobby, defeat CP9
and save Robin. But in the process, the Merry
Go is completely destroyed, and the heroes bid farewell to their trusted
ship as it sinks to the bottom of the sea. Returning to Water Seven, the heroes
receive a new ship, the Thousand Sunny,
a gift from the master shipwright Franky. Since Franky is also wanted by the
government for his involvement in the raid on Enies Lobby, Luffy convinces him
to join his pirate crew, and together they set sail for their next destination,
Fish-Man Island.
Meanwhile,
on a faraway island, another battle between pirates has just begun. Portgaz D.
Ace, Luffy’s big brother, has tracket down his former crewmate Blackbeard, who
is wanted for murdering a member of their crew. But as the fight goes on,
Blackbeard reveals his true dark power.....
[What’s written
below is just a quick shift threw what is going on in the volume. This in no
way has all there is in it, nor am I going to tell you the full story line,
just the basic so that you can follow along with me. Really, if you are finding
this interesting then you really
should read this series....really, either way, read it! Honestly it’s awesome,
with great storylines and characters that you will fall in love with faster
than you could blink]
What happens....vol 46;
we meet Brook (fanniest guy ever—really this whole section is funny as) and learn
of the fact that he’s a devil fruit user which is why he’s a talking skeleton,
and also that he’s shadow had been taken and so he can’t step out into the
light, nor is his shadow shown.
They
end up locked into Triller Park and Luffy wants to explore so he pulls out
mini-Merry, who is a steam power row boat. Usopp, Nami and Chopper go for a
ride and never come back.
So
it’s the rest of them to the rescue (funny stuff—really, laughing just thinking about it.
ha, ha, even more so now that I’m re-reading it)
Huh,
it’s a little hard, because these four books are just about the fight the Straw
Hats are having with one of the Seven Warlords—I think this one is Luffy’s 3rd
Warlord so far, so....
Cloudy, Partly Bony, vol 47; this one Luffy,
Zolo & Sanji get there shadows stolen and put into zombies.
Brook
fight’s his own shadow in a master sword fighter. The 3 of them wake up on the
ship and go back for their shadows and Luffy’s shadow is put into Oars a giant
warrior who died 500 years ago.
Oh,
oh and they learn that Brook has connections with the Whale back in Twin Cape
(the start of the Grand Line).
Funny,
Sanji’s zombie is a penguin like dog—ha, ha, lots of laughs.
Adventures of Oars, vol 48; Oras is still too
much Luffy and so he’s just exploring and all that. Usopp fight a woman with
the devil fruit power to control ghosts—she makes you depressed when her ghosts
go through you. Only Usopp isn’t ever happy so they have no effect on him.
Sanji
is out to get Nami back because one of them wants to marry her. Sanji fights
and Zolo enters the fight with Brooks shadow and a master swords man.
Chopper
and Robin go up against the doctor who crates all these zombies.
This
is the one they all meet Oars.
Nightmare Luffy, vol 49; this is the start
of the big fight. The crew—minus Luffy—against Oars.
Luffy,
with the help of 100 shadows becomes something undefeatable and with the last
minute help from the crew they are able to make the Zombie Oars unmovable.
Thriller Bark part 5
Sabaody part 1
Arriving Again, vol 50; Luffy vs. one of
the Seven Warlords Gecko Moria: it’s a race against the sun, as Moria takes all
the shadows he’s taken into him and tries to use them against Luffy, but, well,
it’s Luffy. Defeating the man and passing out, they all think it’s over until
another of the Seven Warlords turns up with orders to kill them all.
Zolo
saves the day, and they all party. Brook joins up the crew, old school style
with his added 33 million berries bounty—now as a crew they are worth 50
berries over 700 million berries
Zolo
finally wakes up and they head out to meet up with the other side of the Red
Line. Yeah half way!!!!!
They
meet a mermaid and set off to help her save an octopus, that Zolo helps them
remember may or may not have run into him before.
The Eleven Supernovas, vol 51; they get there,
and it’s a trap. The crew don’t want to save Hachi—because of past differences.
So Camie the mermaid does and gets caught which gets the crew involved in
saving him
They
do and we find—yeah, it’s too funny and something you can find out for yourselves if you
read it. Really, and it’s a series thing that makes it funny too, you need to
know.
They
head off to get there boat bubbled because it’s the only way that they can get
under the red line—the only way to the new world, with their Ship.
Camie
gets taken and is about to be sold at action and when Luffy, finally, terns up
he livings the place by knocking out one of the ‘High People’ (Dragon
something....)
Rogar and Rayleigh, vol 52; we come back to
them knocking all of them out. we meet the other rockee pirates that have
massive bounty’s on their heads and they all get free to learn that the Navy
has sent in some big dogs.
Luffy
and his crew all get poped away by one of the Seven Warlords (the same one from
the last time)
Natural Born King, vol 53; Luffy lands on an
Amazon island which kills all men for just being men (funny, so funny, really, cryin’ it’s
that good) he saves one of the woman he’s fighting and so they become
friends (though the head woman thinks she’s in love with Luffy or something—I’m
not sure what’s going on with that, but it may be important info to hold onto)
Just
before setting off in search of his crew he finds out that he’s brother (who we
have know for a while) is about to be executed in a week and he inlists the
help of the head woman to get him into the high prison so that he can save his
brother (oh, oh, yeah, I remember, she’s one of the Seven Warlords as well)
When we continues....Luffy’s racing against time
to rescue his brother, “Fire Fist” Ace from execution by the Navy forces at
Impel Down. He may have found a way to sneak into the maximum-security prison,
but it seems that finding Ace won’t be quite that easy...until Luffy runs into
some old enemies who just may be able to help!
