    Synopsis
EAST BLUE part 7...
As a child, Monkey D. Luffy dreamed of becoming King of the Pirates. But his life changed when he accidently gained the power to stretch like rubber...at the cost of never being able to swim again! Years later, Luffy sets off in search of the “One Piece,” said to be the greatest treasure in the world....

The Crap-Geezer
Don Krieg’s evil pirates’ armada attempts to hijack the oceangoing restaurant Baratie, but the pirate cooks put up a fierce resistance until Krieg reveals one of the greatest secret weapons in his arsenal—Invincible Pearl! When sous chef Sanji steps into the fray, it turns out that he and Chef Zeff have some unfinished business concerning the loss of the latter’s leg! Will their differences come between them or make the Baratie stronger? Either way, unfortunately for Luffy, it turns out that Don Krieg harbors an even deadlier weapon—Gin, the very man whose life Sanji once saved with a square meal!

Catch up.... Monkey D. Luffy started out as just a kid with a dream—and that dream was to become the greatest pirate in history! Stirred by the tales of pirate “Red-Haired” Shank, Luff vowed to become a pirate himself. That was before the enchanted Devil Fruit gave Luffy the power to stretch like rubber, at the cost of being unable to swim—a serious handicap for an aspiring sea dog. Undeterred, Luffy sat out to sea and recruited a couple of crewmates: master swordsman Zolo and treasure-hunting thief Nami and lying sharp-shooter Usopp.

Luffy and his crew sail to Baratie, the oceangoing restaurant, to find themselves a ship’s cook. There Luffy takes a liking to the arrogant-but-merciful Sanji and asks him to join the crew. Unfortunately, before he can be recruited, Don Kried and his 5,000 pirates arrive on the scene. After Sanji takes pity on the starving Krieg and gives him food, Krieg in completely revitalized. But the pirate repays good with evil by trying to take over the ship! So the battle for the Baratie begins. Then suddenly the sea rumbles and “Hawk-Eye” Mihawk, reputed to be the world’s greatest swordsman, appears. Zolo, who aspires to win that title for himself, challenges Mihawk. Zolo is defeated, but vows never to lose again. Mikawk departs and the deadly battle with Krieg’s pirates resumes.....

What happens....Vol 7; Sanji fights the Sheld on Don Krieg’s crew, showing of his kicking skills. We also learn all about how Sanji and the captain chef became tight along with Gin’s real identity and he’s betrayal. And even though Luffy fights a little bit here and there it’s really all about Sanji and he’s kick-ass fighting skills.

Vol 8, there ending their fight with Don Krieg in this one, with Luffy not giving up even though it seems, for most of the show, he’s losing, but as the crap-geezer says to Sanji:

“Even a man bristling with powerful weapons... can be skewered by the spear of blind grit.”
“?”
“In the life-and-death struggles of a pirate...he who hesitates is buzzard food.”

[I thought it was a little wired using Buzzed food being that they were on water—but who am I to talk against someone as great as Eiichiro?]

So, once the battle is done and Sanji agrees to join Luffy’s crew (being that Luffy won’t take them unless they want to go) a panda sharp with brother Yosaku who tells them and then takes them to the island where Nami is heading, along with the warnings of about the fish-man, not that Luffy’s listening.

We end this one knowing Nami’s a witch lady, and her knocking out Zolo, putting him in the dungeon of the fish-man’s place.

Vol 9, this is where we learn about Nami’s past and what she’s really been up to, which isn’t all that great—seems she’s (no to much of a spoiler). This one has them all coming back together after looking for Nami, and the last battle. They are on an island that Nami grew up in and they are learning all about the hatefulness of the pirates that reckons the own the place.

They pretty much are fighting Nami in this one, only they aren’t.... and Luffy get’s pissed when he comes across Nami in the street with tears in her eyes.

Vol 10 is the start of the fight with the fish man, which really means that Luffy got stuck and near drown, with him out of the way for some time, it left Zolo and Sanji to fight in fishes homestead and Usopp to run screaming in the wind, only to be chased by the kissing fish guy. The town’s folk were stopped by the brothers.

Really, this one is all about the kicking and the swords, like it will always be for the two of them, but this time its more time management because they need to get Luff out of the water—being that they don’t know he’s getting help from the town.

Zolo gets his old wounds ripped open, but still he fights until there isn’t anything left...of the other guy, and Sanji takes a wrong tone by going into the water, but it all works out (really, it’d be a crappy book if it didn’t)

Nami heads in to try and lend a hand. Luffy gets free and starts with the warm up battle with the Captain fish man.

Vol 11 we end the fight with Sward fish man, and set sail with the new Nami who has a new tattoo and real friends. but when the set there eyes on an island, one that’s the start and end of the famous pirate they can’t help but explore, problem, as there always is, Captain Buggy and a new and improved Captain Avida are there to end Luffy’s life. When a storm hits, luffy is free of his execution by Buggy, but still on the run from the navy.

We also part ways with the bounty hunter brothers Yosaku and Johnny.

Vol 12, has the five of them entering the Grand Line, the scariest ocean of all the oceans, but first they have to deal with a whale that misses his friends and a island made of cactuses, with a bunch of overly friendly towns folk who think that the kids are nothing to worry about, even with their huger than another bounty on Luffy’s head.

Vol 13 is the end of the fight with Zolo and the bounty hunters. Luffy wakes up pissed because he won’t listen to reason—funniest fight ever!—and they end up helping out a princess they were gonna kill because something bigger and bader is after her.

The second half of this vol has us heading into the island of Little Garden and Zolo is off with the princess, while Zolo and Sanji are heading in separate ways to take the most meat....

When we continues....the battle of the giants continue as Luffy and crew try to figure out who gave Dorry the exploding ale! Luffy attempts to keep the giant from obeying the call to fight, but you can’t stop a hard-headed warrior’s pride, and Dorry goes anyway. How can he hope to win the 100-year battle in his wounded condition? And while this is going on, what are the sinister members of the Baroque Works up to? Find out for yourself in volume 14!
