a Brake to Bitch

Yeah... I like to do this a lot, jump if not into me.

I have just noticed, that I haven't read a book in eight days, though I have bought, or gotten - what? five more. That’s shit; I can see that, I know.

tonight, or this avo, I'm going to start one, though I'm not all that sure what I want to pick up and read (a YA or Adults, hard to decide) I find that I am able to write more of my own books when I read a YA novel, maybe because my line works with it. maybe because I'm arigent enough to think I can do better (though I know I can't) but whatever it is, it works and so really, on that I should read a adults novel, get them out of the way so that all I have left are the YA ones and then I can kick it all off finishing this first first draft of mine (it's got to be done by mid Oct, cause I want to be able to print it out and take in on holidays with me and fix it up on my down time. the nights sitting in the open with nothing to do. to me it's either that or read. and well... I'm doing that one know. Also I find I can put my own books down a lot easier than I can another’s.

But still.... it doesn't at all tell me what the hell I should read. and that's mostly because there's so many I want to but I don't want the book to shift over to tomorrow, I don't have my kids and so it's the day things get done, but not if all I want to do is snuggle up with a book. So it's got to be short - which heads me over to YA. And the ones I don't think I'm going to like all that much, since when you don't particularly like a book, well you guys now..

Anywho. I have written 3 pages and a bit of my YA story I've been working on. I'm up to 67pp (a4, single) and getting to a point that I can start getting her out of there, that's cool. Well, it is if you can get in the right mind space and can think of how it's going to work, me not all that great on that one. Honestly it's getting annoying, really is. Why can’t it just come, and when it does most of the time I don’t like what I have written in the first place. Which shouldn’t matter all that much at the moment, I just want the book finished so that I can go through and fix it up, make it what I really want it to be.

Though saying all this, the reason that I think I haven’t been able to write is because I was going somewhere that I wasn’t liking only way at the back, and that part of me doesn’t like to clue me in on that sort of crap until it’s sure of how to fix it. Really it’s like... I’m on total writers block until my mind tells me the write way and then, BAM, the flood gates open and I don’t have the time to sit and write. It’s shit and annoying, not that I’m thinking like that at the tie, all I have is, ‘Yeah, that’s what’s meant to happen, can’t wait till I’m writing it.’ I also think that I like the idea of me not being able to write it straight away, especially if it’s about the plot not the word to word (they normally come of a night when I’m trying to think) so it’s better for me to think it threw, or let it stick, it’s the only way to knows it’s the right way to go, if you forget anything then it’s not worthy of a book, but if it sticks, and grows. Then you know its right, and also, with me, it gets all wrapped around your brain and you never forget it. It’s how you can write and write and write and never forget your place, ‘cause if you forget something about your book it’s not worth your time. Think of something else, or a different character or something. You shouldn’t forget what you’re writing, or who you’re writing.

Anywho, it’s not really like I know what I’m talking about. Though I think I do it’s not like there’s any proof that I can actually write a book in the first place. At least not one that is worth anyone reading it.

So book to read.... I really want to read Wild Fire – at least that’s what I’m really thinking about reading. But I think maybe Spellbound or... Past Midnight might be the one for tonight.

In the Mail

That's what you all say isn't it?

So as it is I have gotten a book in the mail - Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson. Which (if you don't know) is the first book in the series of the same name. I was meant to get book two, Nocturne, but it didn't come and cause it's not on the invoice/receipt thingy only has the first one on the page, so I might still be getting it later, who the hell knows. All I can do is wait and when it becomes clear that it's not coming, then, well, I can bithc. It's not all that hard.

So of course the book is already on the list, and cause of the style - like it's got 336pp and all that but it's got, like, I don't know. It looks like it's not a long read, and so, maybe it will become a weekly one. it's also one of the books that I'm that I'm looking forward to reading and so...why not.
Though thinking on that if I read the first one I'll want to read book two, and I don't have that one.

so what to do? what to do? Guess you'll find out just a little after I do.

UPDATE: 7th Sept 2011
(Cause it's so much easier this way)

I got Nocturne, so... yeah. Nah really it's exciting in a lot of weird ways, and some less. But hey I got them, so that's pretty good hey. It’s still weird though that they didn't come together but whatever, not really something to let clog up your mind.

I also bought two books today, yeah; I’m beating the crap out of myself as we talk. One half on me is cowering in the corner, one is yelling still, while another part is smile like a dick while clutching the books I got to my chest – it’s not exciting enough, nor the books that make me jump around the room cause I’ve gotten them. But still pretty good buy or at least one is. The other, is really while I’m abusing myself.

So I got Forbidden by Jana Oliver, it’s book two in the Demon Trapper series, buying this book know really shows you (if you care enough) that I like the first one, cause I couldn’t wait. I saw it, snatched it up. and it will most likely the next book I’m going to read, though saying that I’ve decided that I have to write a part in my book first – like tonight, cause I don’t really have the time to read it while looking after the kids and then there’s Criminal Minds on tonight, and I can’t not watch that (not true, but still true).

I also got Past Midnight by Mara Purnhagen, its book 1 in the series of same name. It’s got 3 more and what looks like must be a Novella, in the rest of the series – they all come out in 2011.

Book Release Update: Heads up, so cool, I think – really not that sure – book nine of the house on night series is out in October, which means for me... well I still probably have a couple of month before I can get it. Though if I really wanted to I guess I could, you know, order it in from overseas. Problem? Don’t care that much for the series at the moment, it’s dragging too much, but honestly that’s something for another time.

GETTING TOMORA: 8th Sept 2011
so the books I ordered have come in. and so, I'll be buying them.

I'm getting Wild Fire by Christine Feehan it's book four in her Leopard people series and the last I need so that I have the series so far. yeah!

and I'm getting Personal Demons by Lisa DesRochers. this is book one is the series of same name. and the one that I had to buy so that I could read book two is series. and yeah, I can't read the second book when I haven't read the first. and so...

and there you have it. have fun reading fokes, cause that's what I'll be doing.

Sex scenes (everywhere)

Let's talk sex scenes in books and/or movies - at least the high price ones that was more focused on the characters shoulders and sheet covered hips.

But let's not get ahead of ourself.

first thing to know is that I don't mind sex scenes, I actually like them in most cases but there are times when your reading a book where it's there for no reason that I can see and that pisses me off, makes the book turn to shit in my opinion. The page fillers that you can find at all satisfying then if you were reading porn. And you do know there is that shit out there and if I wanted to read only sex I would have gone and bought myself one of them instead of this romance.

it's like... I don't know. I hate reading unnecessary sex scenes. I hate it mostly because it seems like the centre of it is sex rather than the love between them. And honestly, even though they can say: 'it's more than the sex that I want, it's her/him. It’s the person behind all this flesh'. Yeah okay, there my words but it's what happens and yet there having sex when it's not something they had to be doing. so really it's contradicting the words thought threw the sex because, like really, all it is between you - all we see about you is the sex and the lust.

Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with it. I like romances for the fact that it's lust related, though they say it's not, really, that's all we’re seeing. But then when they put in that horrid scene. honestly I would have preferred to read that page or less than have to have go through reading that sex. I just really hate it. I hate that it's there, that I can tell it's only because there isn't anything else they (the author) can use to add the scenes together. And it's that that I don't like, the scene that are truly there for no reason. And you can see that.

Or maybe that's just me.

But I can and it's something that I hate. I also hate love stories that would have been better without the love in it. Why can't characters just have a lust affair why can't people (reader, cause that's who we write for) get the idea around a relationship that only works around a few days rather than a full soulmate thing. 'cause I have read a book or two that would have worked wonders, and much better than they did, if it was more about the fact that they got together and then when there separate way at the end of the book, friends even. Why does everyone always want a happy ending? Why can't they be happy with something that's probably much more reality based.

It’s something I think about a lot while writing my romance. Though I won’t people to read it I don't think I'm going to be able to write a complete lust filled story because every time I do that all I want is for them to fall into bed and then... that's it. And to be honest it's how both my books start. It’s not till book three that they will come to the love later on in the story.

It’s even worse (sex scenes) when they are in high price movies, the ones that have actors that can turn down breasts and junk off the film. The ones that are all about a slide of a sheet. A hand running across a shoulder. Hell half the time it's not even a little bit convincing that they are having sex. And the other half you’re watching fact orgasm faces. Honestly, the only orgasm face that I want to watch is the one that I'm giving someone else, and that's more to do with pride than the fact that it's anything to look at. Though most of the time it is, but like I say, pride makes a shit load of things better than they really are.

Still, that's a little - nah, I really hate sex scenes in movies, unless I'm watching porn or it's done in a way that is really like sex. Like um... Sex and other drugs was a good movie and that was full of sex. But something like...I don't know. I hate high budget movies that have sex scenes in it. They sex so much and all they really make me thinks is, "the wont fit in her belly button no matter how hard you try."

Shit I hate it. I really do.  I'm not sure why it's become such a hot subject for me at the moment. Maybe cause I'm writing sex scenes at the moment, you know there all I've been thinking about. Which sucks and has... yeah, more than you will ever need to know about me. Also people I have to see (sis, parents) might be reading this so it's best not to get into anything...
Also, it's not really the sex that I have been thinking about, but where it should be, what it should be like, and what I need to know with the characters that I am writing it for. Since, yeah, the characters are into sex that I'm not and well, it's hard to write when you’re not sure how it sits. So it's researching sex. Which is really where it comes to me seeing sex everywhere. And I really mean everywhere. It sucks and I honestly can't wait till it's over and I can, you know, more to the next thing I need to know about.

Thoughts while Marathoning... (part 1)

    .
...and the books I read

So this is what I thought while I was reading these books, ‘cause that’s what I do, and who doesn’t like to have a little chat about the book with another, and being that you are the only ones I can really talk to about the books I read (yeah, no friends and no one that likes what I do. Or at least not at the present or who I see enough). Anyway, this is going to be long, but all the reviews where back dated so you don’t have to go through all of them, just click on the book name threw the blog (mostly the start one) and you will get the review, I thought that might be nicer than, you know, actually making you read them—and like me having to space them, rather than just post them all at once (which is what I did).

26/8: So a strange thing started when I finished Siren's Storm since (if you haven't read review) it's about mermaids, more Greek based but anyway this is beside the point. The point being that not only can I not write one book at a time I also can't think about one. (this does not happen while reading if I put it down for no reason, generally I won’t pick it back up again).
So in this thinking back on the book, logging parts I won't forget I end up thinking about Zombies vs. Unicorns and how I'm really not a fan of either creature (which sucks when trying to read the book) and the main reason behind that is because when you think (or I, can't speak for you, know can I) about zombies, you think horror, death, decay, fear, evil and unicorns it's all puppy dogs and pussy cats, rainbows and sunshine. Pureness and innocents, honestly, goodness. But mermaids...? They can really go both ways can't they?
So many myths are all rolled into one when it comes to mermaids. A voice so pure and beautiful it’s terrifyingly hypnotic. A face so beautiful you can't even see it. And then there's the fact that mermaids ever really in one specific category. Like, yeah, we've made werewolves and vampires good by giving them life, a voice, but in reality and most mythical based they aren't good both blood lusting beasts that thrive on death. Zombies - death. so bad... actually (had pause while thought popped into head) mermaids are kinda like fairies in a way both good and bad  rolled into this beauty you’re not sure which it is until it’s too late and yet I can't read all that many fairies books (for that reason) but give me mermaids and you'll have me hooked!!!
which isn't really all that true, I read a book because I want to, there isn't a topic or anything like that behind it like yeah authors I like before will get first look but still if it doesn't stand interesting it's off my list.

27/8: So here’s the thing that I’m struck again—even though I’m getting a hell of a lot better at writing (or more so spelling) I still lose words, still can’t read some that are so simple. It’s like I sorta know what that word means but I wouldn’t for the life of me be able to tell you what it says and that sucks. Just a thought sorry.

You know what I really liked about this book? It was the fact that the main plot didn’t seem to be about her. Like yeah she saved the day and all but still it didn’t seem like it was really about her. Which is really different and not something you usually see. like yeah there’s probably gonna be a huge picture that more based around her and what she really is but this book plot seemed way of course and only reason it was ever really in it (other than smaller thing threw it) was because she finally realised she liked being what she was and the thing was threatening her chance at even really understand it. Or at least that’s my thoughts—and probably has better understanding if you’ve a: read the book, and maybe B: you’ve read the review.

So I just watch (this day) Book Chat: Movie Adaptations by BookRatMisty (you should check her out, on youtube) in it she was talking about books that turned into movies and what one she really liked and I know you will never see this, so it shouldn’t be added here, but it’s something that happen in this point and I was nice by waiting and all that. anyway, the movie that I like both book and movie is ‘the Secret Garden’, I loved the movie and even though I couldn’t read it until like last year, my mum use to read it to me all the time, and I loved the book, hell I loved even more when I actually read the thing. Such a great movie, even though there are some things in the book that are heaps different than the movie they are both great in my mind and in their own rights. So yeah.

  • Book 3: Dark of the Moon (28th - 29th) - review with book three. it's easier that way

28/8: Camelot aired tonight on Channel 9 (haven't see it though, I'm a Castle fan and that's on same time diff channel), which if you’re not a Australian, means nothing to you, but me... I love the story of Merlin - okay so it's really King (prince whatever he is) Edward, but still, it's my fav story. Though I'm a little scared that's it's going to be too much sex and I hate high budget tv sex. really I hate all tv sex (unless it's porn, but hey that's real) I hated orgasm face, unless I'm the one that's causing it, like really does anyone else like to see it. and sheet, too much shoulder grabbing and strategically placed sheets, that just make it seem more unreal. But hey, I look at the big pictures and I really don't care about the fact that they are having sex! Really have the time it doesn't seem like it was even needed, and that's even worse, I hate unnecessary crappy overly priced sex scenes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Though I hate that too with books, even romances, come on people, pick up porn if all you won’t is sex, like yeah it's fun to write sex scenes but don't put them in just to fill pages, they are really annoying - or at least I think so...

29/8: wrote 5 pages (a4,single) in my book Body of Darkness.

  • Book 4: Night's Edge (all three stories where first published in 2004)
30/8: I really have forgotten how much I like Charlaine as a writer, it was something lost to me in a series that is starting to annoy me, but it's nearly ending (I hope) and so I'll stay for that.

I re-wrote ME, check it out if out want.
1/8: I really liked this book, though this isn't at all a review on it. I like it in the fact that it was so perfectly prepositioned in the way of the outside world and the character bass. I love the relationship between Jessa and Graf (main characters) and with Jessa and Derek. I loved the history, I loved the place, the reason they were there and the towns people (being that they were trapped there for five years) though it was very 12th century mind set, it was...I don't know, understandable. I don't think it would have worked if it was anywhere else, but just...
This book was awesome, a little slow and ended with you wanting more, though I'm still not convinced that it's more of the same thing or just Jennifer Armintrout's writing style.
It’s a book to recommend, it's a great book, really great. Honestly you should read it if you ever the chance.
  •  Firday night/Sat morn movies:
    • Fast & Furious 5. (there were some thumbs up in this one.)
    • Circue du Freak: the Vampire's Assistant. (crap from the get go. honestly I couldn't get past the first ten mins of the show.)

  • Added to the pile: The Vampire Dimitri by Colleen
This book was the only one that I was meant to buy this month, and really if you think about it, since I bought it yesterday (1st of Sept) it was... hehe, but still it's the one I wanted and so...I couldn't stop myself from reading it.
this book is also the only historical book that I will willingly read (unless of course it was written back then, I hate - no this is another topic, and one that may come up later this month, or earlier, or next month. it's coming, but I'm not sure when) - if you read the link from the movie night you would understand this a little better.
3/9: it was like the first eposide of a show. not the way it was written but more the feel of the book, the way it sat on you. the... yeah, not a surprise but I'm glad it was as good as it was.

also I'm not sure if I agree or disagree with Danny Marks when he talks about liking the 'butter' covers I think is what he calls them. the ones that feel...I don't know, sticky..no gritty, whatever it is. it's like when you holding it reading it, it's nice, but running you fingers over, consesly thinking about the feel. it's like running your hands across corded jeans. it's odd and most of the time you hate it (or maybe that's just me) but it's also cool too. no matter what you find yourself unable to let the thing go.

well this is part one of my marathon. it's getting to be a long post and like, well I'm done, the reviews and everything, they where all backdated a lest two days ago (casue I want them inside September). thanks for reading, listening, and let me know what you think. if you agree or don't

the next one will be in a week or two, maybe after then next five or so books, so look forward to that. I'm also going to do a blog on my thoughts about sex scenes, and they over use when it - yeah, it will be next week. 'cause I feel you need that info from my brain, and it's something that is always going to come up with me.

so see you on the flip side, suckers!

Movie Night

Really I can't just watch a movie I have to do something with it. And so you all get to read my shit.
Though hopefully it won’t be all that long, this Fast & Furious 5 is more action pack than any of the others. It would have to be; seriously it's the fifth one. And the last? I don't know, but hey, not only does it have (the yummy) Vin Diesel, (if he's your type) Paul Walker but also Dwayne Johnson (the Rock - another if you like, I don't in terms of looks, but honestly I like watching movies with him in it, since he knows, sorta, what he's doing in terms of 'play' fighting.

Anyway I thought that maybe I would let you in on why I don't practically like reading Historical fiction unless it was written back then. I'm a fan of Dicken's work and I don't mind... nah, I'm really not all that much a fan of anything to do with...

Oh, and it's got the black guy from Numbers as one of the cops too (he was a cop in that one too)

...that real historical edge to it. I don't like all those stupid cloths they were and how everyone needs to explain them all. I like the old school shit when it was writen back in the day because...

Oh, oh, and all the old people from the last 5 movies. Awesome
(And yes, this is how the blogs going to go. and honestly this is how I think, especially when I'm watching a movie)

...it's more real. Like no matter who you are, or where you live, how much you have seen. You did not live back then and the people you are writing for haven't either. So it's safe to say....

There’s too much sub titles and they are written in white, I hate it when they do that. It’s annoying and you miss half of what's going on because of what's under the writing, because it's white too. I understand the need for it, hell there in Reo, but still... shitty. And it's tiny, like we all should know Spanish (it is Spanish, right?) if we want to watch it.
I'M MORE THAN SURE THAT IT'S PORTUGUESE!

....that you will explain things, because you see it more (in your mind) or do something that is more about the fact that you don't like in that time, and you write for people who don't, it's an inevitable that it happens, and I'm not dissing anyone who can actually do it. I certainly can't. But I just can't read the crap. Never, it's like, I don't know. It always seems too much about the world around them, what they are eating, wearing. Just about the time that there in, and hey, if that's your thing. That’s great. But I'm a character person, if I haven’t told you all before. It’s why....

It’s WWF (no wait it's not called that anymore is it?) still, where near the end, I guess and there's this fight scene going on between Vin and Dwayne, or more so there characters and yeah, it's great. Honestly, made you think too, had that whole... I don't know, understanding thing going on, a what the—? type of moment at the end. So cool. But at least it looked like fighting, really, best one I have seen in awhile.

...I read romances, 'cause there all about the two characters of the time, not so much what's going on around them. That’s more so because it's needed for them to go through something for them to have come together or someshit. But it's all about characters, about them as a couple, as an individual.
Unlike books that are more about the place, the outside, the world. And a lot of the time that bores me. Like the story would really have to have something gripping in me to have me not won’t to...

And now...now!! Holy fuck!!! There all working together (but then can the Rock really be a good guy?) and the chase, the...the... OHMYGOD, action happening here, I'm like bouncing up and down, wanting it to end, never wanting it to end.
Seriously it's that good. I'm gripped (even if it don't seem like it, I just can't do one thing at a time. unless it's actually reading a book.

....

Holly FUCK! Shit, Fuck, Shit, Fuck. That’s really all there is to it. All I'm able to think to...to.... fuck!
  Fuck.................
And then the silence came. the end scene. the.
"I thought I told you to go on?" Toretto.
"Yeah, I had to make a call." O'Connor.
  Shit....! Just shit....
What an ending. What a fucking ending!

and all you out there, that's me watching a movie, and you may think I'm full of shit, but I'm not. I can't just watch something; they always bore the crap out of me if I do. So I write. it’s what I've always done. The last movie though, um..Centurion was a movie that I didn't want to. It actually had me hocked. Man that was a movie that I love. And love I do. Blood guts and no sex scene. And you if you don't know that one, well that's a whole nother blog. Which I will put on next week. Tuesday I think.

WHAT! you have to be kidding me. Just let the movie dye. Wow I didn't know not turning off a movie at its end credits would make me instantly pissed at the whole thing. Really, just let the fucker die.
People, really, the last of anything will see the most especially if people now that it's the end. And really when someone says it's gonna be the end and they make another on top. The fucker flops, 'cause really, they were already over the show and true fans of a movie will watch the last even if there over it. Doesn’t mean shit to any more. Holly hell, it's... yeah.

Oh, and yeah, I fix this one up in that blog too 'cause I can't remember what I was going to say to finish off the topic and I'm now all up in the heads of all those wankers that can't just leave it at that.

Thanks for the time. Hope this was helpful. probly not though, 'cause let's face it, I'm not really one to be followed easily, and if you can understand it the whole way.. well thanks, means a lot that you've been reading them.

Have a great night/day. I'm off the brush me teeth and snuggle up in bed.
Dream of something happy and if you don't, try something my sis does, change your dream. Apparently you can do that

book review, marathon (Forsaken)

Riley Blackthorne. Kicking hell’s ass one demon at a time....

    Prod dets
Forsaken
Series: Demon Trapper series, book 1
Pub: 2011, St. Martin’s Press
Author: Jana Oliver
Cat: paranormal fiction
Format: paperback (mid); 423 pp w/ 39 chapters
Age Range: YA [for older readers]

            Synopsis
Riley has always wanted to be a Demon Trapper like her father, and she’s already following in his footsteps as one of the best. But it’s tough being the only girl in an all-guy world, especially when three of those guys start making her life more complicated:

Simon, the angelic apprentice who has heaven on his side; Beck, the tough trapper who things he’s God’s gift, and Ori, the strikingly sexy stranger who keeps turning up to save her life.

One thing’s for sure – if she doesn’t keep her wits about her there’ll be hell to pay...

     Thoughts
All I can think about is that this was like a pilot to a show you really wanted to see, but you still can’t quite figure out if you like it or not. Who your fav characters are, what their real problem is. You do know that it’s going to get juicy and it’s going to get fun. Or maybe that’s what you hope so that watching the next episode on something that wasn’t...I don’t know, and that’s really the problem isn’t it?

So its set in 2018, the economy is shit, so most people are poor as. And to top it all off demons are running round the place willy nilly, and that’s fun. I love it. I love how well she made it like we really lived in that world. The here and now of the book was the best part of it.

Her and Beck’s relationship another, and honestly there’s something gotta be going on with them in the future. One because I really hope it, and two because this book (and I’m guess the next will be the same, or that would just have made this book pointless) has them both as main characters (shit, they both have their say, whatever you want to call it). And so it’s really got that ‘they gotta be together’ shit. or maybe I’m not into the whole good boy crap, ‘cause let’s face it, it may be okay to date one, but what fun are they to read? (Not that I could date someone that good, and...yeah, no thanks).

It’s one of those books that even though it’s got a lot in it, it doesn’t seem to have anything. It’s left so much out and yet it’s not like you feel a loss. Honestly it’s like I said in the first line, you just can’t wait till next week when ep 2 comes on and you can see where there taking this.

It’s also well written in a teen aspect but the acknowledgments say that P.C helped and so, well, its prob’ly why.

I wouldn’t say that it was a surprise. I honestly thought it would be a good book to read, if I had given any real thought when I was buying this that I should have waited like a week and gotten book two along with it I would have. And now I’m so glad that it’s there because I will have to get it, just ‘cause I need my fix. It’s like a show; honestly I haven’t come out of a book with this type of feel. One that both glad for the wait but I really do what more now.
