Stuck in Your Head # 45

I'm going to give you the line from the books I've read that make my mind crave the rest like chocolate & Coke.

I really like this book; it’s sweet, and a little heartbreaking. It was the book that really made me double look at what she writes.

My mother broke the silence, “I can’t believe it’s been five years since we found him. I knew he was upset about something. I should have pried. Then when we found him… I can’t get the visual out of my head. Excuse me.” she bolted out of her chair crying, […]
My father pushed his plate away and rested his elbow on ths table. He rubbed his face with his hands and whispered, “At least you asked.” […]

Hadn’t the Pleasure # 49

The books that have been collecting dust for so long they have become stained from it

This one’s a little different; it’s something I really want to do this ever since I saw the book in the bookshop, didn’t buy it, and then had to (you all get it). It’s the reason BBD was posted like that, its idea came from these two books. So…
Below are two books, and I recently bought, and I want (and going to) read them back to back (ish) and do a review on the two. I think the idea is cool. Until I really thought about it, and the stupidity of what I was going to put myself threw, but can’t stop wanting it, so it could take a while.

"What if all women were bigger and stronger than you? And thought they were smarter? What if women were the ones who started wars? What if too many of your friends had been raped by women wielding giant dildos and no K-Y Jelly? What if the state trooper who pulled you over on the New Jersey Turnpike was a woman and carried a gun? What if the ability to menstruate was the prerequisite for most high-paying jobs? What if your attractiveness to women depended on the size of your penis? What if every time women saw you they’d hoot and make jerking motions with their hands? What if women were always making jokes about how ugly penises are and how bad sperm tastes? What if you had to explain what’s wrong with your car to big sweaty women with greasy hands who stared at your crotch in a garage where you are surrounded by posters of naked men with hard-ons? What if men’s magazines featured cover photos of 14-year-old boys with socks tucked into the front of their jeans and articles like: “How to tell if your wife is unfaithful” or “What your doctor won’t tell you about your prostate” or “The truth about impotence”? What if the doctor who examined your prostate was a woman and called you “Honey”? What if you had to inhale your boss’ stale cigar breath as she insisted that sleeping with her was part of the job? What if you couldn’t get away because the company dress code required you wear shoes designed to keep you from running? And what if after all that women still wanted you to love them?"

Okay, so this one’s a little different. But it’s for a good cause.
I didn’t mind JR Wards leap into gay sex, but as I read it (I noticed real earlier on) that it was just a het romance in the face of two males.
And more than just the fact that they only fucked one way (‘cause you can only take it up the arse one way?) and no idea of lube or stretching enter then equation (you can do this without the min details, just read something by Josh Lanyon… as an example) it just didn’t feel…gay. But this line. This one I’m gonna give you, seemed to concrete it all for me.

Mass paperback 1998 by Bloomsbury Publishing

The Dursleys were so mean and hideous that summer that all Harry Potter wanted was to get back to the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. But just as he's packing his bags, Harry receives a warning from a strange, impish creature named Dobby who says that if Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts, disaster will strike.

And strike it does. For in Harry's second year at Hogwarts, fresh torments and horrors arise, including an outrageously stuck-up new professor, Gilderoy Lockheart, a spirit named Moaning Myrtle who haunts the girl's bathroom, and the unwanted attentions of Ron Weasley's younger sister, Ginny.

But each of these seem minor annoyances when the real trouble beings, and someone--or something--starts turning Hogwarts students to stone. Could it be Draco Malfoy, a more poisonous rival than ever? Could it possibly be Hagrid, whose mysterious past is finally told? Or could it be the one everyone at Hogwarts most suspects...Harry Potter himself.

Of humanity there are darker tales. Stories that take some squinting to see through. Unconventional stories. Tales that threaten to break the heart by cruel twists of fate, the dogs of war, or demons that are all too real; whether they be of unrequited love or a karmic slap in the face. Happy endings take a time in coming, and some never arrive. But through all the darkness there is light, a glimmer of hope and wonder…if one has the will to see it.
