#MySexySaturday week 77

This week’s theme is Their Sexy Thoughts. When characters think about each other in a sexy, exciting way.

I’m taking mine from Moonlit Wolves: A Werewolf’s Howl, mostly because, off the top of my head, this one that meet criteria, though that’s not true, not really, because they all think there mates are hot as hell.

Anyway, this is what Brad sees Kyle again, after a few years apart.

Kyle was still handsome as hell. So much so, that Brad had yet to look away from him to see Gene and James. Tall and broad, with sharp features that somehow was softened by the roughness of his beard. His eyes, Brad knew, were deep blue, almost black. It was a memory that was playing over what the real image that was just a foot too far away and the light just this side of too dark. That too, and the man’s eyes sank into his face a little, so maybe, you wouldn’t have been able to from this distance anyway.
Brad shook his head. Why he was thinking about such a mundane point when he should have been remembering the fuck up he created and the loss that happened after it.
Pete was his fault. It was entirely his fault, and was one of the real reasons he had no problem coming back home when Mick had told him the specifics about this case. Too much of it was like that night for Brad not to want to help, even if his help turned him into cannon fodder more than anything else.
Brad understood. He was a rookie through and through. There was no way he could help any, not really. Only learn, and this wasn’t on the books, so it became obvious what he was really needed for. It didn’t surprise him when he was asked to go to the pub for a few beers, and then told what happened on their drive back to the base.
“Brad?” Two voices asked him, both filled with concern. One was his boss, that deep tone of a man who had been through too much, and the other, a childhood friend, if you could call knowing someone for two years as such. Although these boys came into their group, and it felt, to Brad, like they had always been there like a brotherly family, from the get go. It disturbed him, then, more so because of what it really meant to him. What his own mind had been coming to terms with for years prior to them showing up. Accepting that came with more time, and a kiss that ruined everything.
Brad still couldn’t take his eyes of Kyle. It had always been like that. Turning his chin slightly, as if he was looking elsewhere, something he’d perfected, if he did say so himself, he replied, “Yeah?”
“You okay, mate?”
No. “‘Course.”

April's Interlude #2

Hi everyone Bronwyn here for a wee moment. I wanted to first share with you guys the link to April’s own blog, she’s not on there much, but she’s got a cover reveal for her first book that will be releasing in mid Feb.
Anyway, you will most likely learn a lot more about it in the coming week here, but I thought maybe you guys would like to see the cover here, it’s lovely

And not onto the short story she’s giving us a look at today, be warned it’s m/m/m and NSFW

Being Neighborly

Isaac held the final notice in his hand, the words rolling in his head.  The word foreclosure seemed to take up most of the page, drowning all other words out.  The sting of tears came to his eyes, uncontrollably.  They clogged up his throat and squeezed his chest like it was being slowly crushed by one of his steer’s hooves.  He had tried everything to make the little ranch he bought five years ago profitable.  Every penny of the money he inherited from his grandfather, the only person who didn’t disown him after he came out, went into the ranch.  Now there was nothing left.
The rest of the family was beyond pissed that Grandpa left Isaac everything he had, so he wouldn’t ask those money hungry vultures for anything, not that they would give him anything anyway.  They had successfully disowned him so thoroughly they hadn’t even spoken to him at his grandfather’s funeral.  And he hadn’t heard from any of them in all the time since then, not even his own parents.
He had started using social media to sell his grass fed beef and it was proving to be a good move.  People wanted to eat healthier and grass fed beef raised on a pasture was better for the human body than the corn-fed, lot-raised crap a consumer bought in a super market.  His great epiphany happened too late and didn’t generate the money he needed quickly enough.  Oh sure it was coming in and he was gaining more and more of a customer base.  Word of mouth was a beautiful thing.  If he had thought of this a year ago it would have made a difference.  The bank wasn’t giving him any more of the hot commodity that was time.
He didn’t know what else to do.  He was completely out of options.

Characters Character #2

I feel I didn’t tell you all what this meme was all about.
My intentions are to let you see behind the scenes of the books, or more so the characters of the books. Let you see what I see when writing them. Maybe let you into their lives and backstories a bit.

I do hope you all enjoy, it probably won’t last very long as I only have so many characters until I come to the end as I only intend on using the ones I have already published.

Anyway, now onto this week.

Here’s the thing, I wrote the moonlit wolves series so that it wouldn’t be so violent, I didn’t want it to take over the world. I wanted them to be about the love, the relationships of the men, and I didn’t think it would be if I let the blood out.

Two things I learnt. 1) I just shouldn’t have done it. I can’t pull it off, and my series was going to be a lot gorier then I ever wanted to be without them. Because in the end, they hold a bit of gore, and I wouldn’t have added to that, just allowed it to flow better.
Because that’s what happened, it reads jumpy and incomplete, because I just couldn’t pull off what I wanted to.

I don’t know if this is because of the way I write, that close to the heart as I can type of writing, or if I just suck that much. I’m not sure, but I have learnt and now I just allow it to flow

And 2) well, I mentioned it above, I wouldn’t have added any more gore to the story then is already there. Full stop. So my mistake. When I get them back I will add to the scene and clean them up, but for now, you’ll just have to watch me learn from my mistakes.

Now, onto whom we are all here to see, Matt (I really wish I was more a person who wrote characters off photo’s I pick out of real people but I don’t. I write them from one pronounced feature and they flow from that. So if you guys have a pic of who you think the characters most look like feel free to share, I’m sure everyone will love you for it)

Matt is that annoying little cousin we all have. You know the one that isn’t quite old enough to hang around with you when you’re in your teens, especially if your friends are around. because, let’s face it, he’s okay when you’re on your own.

He is that kid, the one that got left out one to many times and in his wisdom and boredom of being a wee bit of a teen, he decided it would be a good idea to follow his cousin and mates into the bush and watched in horror as they all shifted into the werewolves they were.

He was also the type that recovered a little too quickly, and because he was that stupid little kid he jumped out with glee onto be chased down and turned into a werewolf himself.

That’s our Matt, he was also lucky enough in life that his parents let him go off to his uncles house to stay, mostly because they couldn’t deal with the little terror Matt was. I’d like to add he didn’t live near Colin (the cousin) just visited a lot.

There he meets Jex, this cute little dude who tried hard not to get noticed, hell, a lot of the times Matt thought he did his best to be out of the public’s eyes as much as possible, even though Matt saw him out and about a lot.

The thing is, Matt never really grew out of being that annoying little cousin and so much to Jex’s love and horror he made Jex his friend. And I say it that way because that’s what happened.

So clearly, I have more of a backstory for Matt, but I haven’t actually ever been inside his head. Every time he’s written it’s because he’s near someone, or with Jex, so, well, this is as best as I got, sorry.

All I can tell you is what you know already. He’s loyal, his fiercely protective of Jex, and an exhibitionist. He likes being watched while fucking, and maybe a little for doing it outdoors, but he’s a little wiry of the idea of being caught with his pants down by the wrong people. This is probably because he doesn’t want anything to happen to Jex, then an actual care of it happening.

Jex and Matt are each other’s first, which I think helps show why they can’t stop fucking, but like above it’s not there only reason.

These two are the easiest to write, there love and energy and passion for the simple things make me never dead writing them.

The Writing Plan, sorta

Since you all were nice enough to tell me what you would like to see me write more of this year, I thought it might be nice of me to put up my tentative list.

This is the list I write out at the beginning of each year, the books I want to write, but unlike last year this isn’t the MUST write list. Just a wish list if you will, and if I end up doing none of them then I’m okay (well as long as I put others in their place, that is, I wanna publish books this year)

·         Moonlit Wolves 7: Protecting My Werewolf – SENT
·         M-preg 1
o   paranormal, werewolves, male pregnancy
o   I have the rough (and I mean rough) outline of three books for this series
o   I’m starting book one this week
·         The Hunted 1 with NJ Neilsen
o   Dystopian, paranormal fantasy
o    The first one will be novel length
·         November 2
o   Contemporary, health
o   This will either be testicular cancer or suicide, but I’ll be writing up a post about it in the coming months, so you’ll understand where the series is coming from and where I hope to take it
·         C’Mon and Love Me
o   Contemporary, light angst, friends to lovers
o   I wrote the end chapters of this books for a hop, I plan on writing the whole story
·         It’s Started With Rain
o   Contemporary, homeless, friends to lovers
o   This one came from a Christmas story I… well, anyway, it’s not original, but it’s buzzing for me to write it
·         No Biggy, It’s Just a Kiss
o   Contemporary NA
o   This is about perceptions we have on ourselves, it’s shot, and hoping to write it for my b’day
·         Assassin Union 1
o   Paranormal fantasy
o   This one I’ve been meaning to write for two years now – and it will have all manner of paranormal in the series, eventually – it’s also kinda dark

Hm… thought I was going to write more paranormal this year then what I have written down.

Anyway, that’s the list that started out my year with, but like I’ve said, I’m happy to can them all (except m-preg, if I do that Tracy will yell) but I’m hoping it has something that you might find interesting.

And because of one comment I may be throwing in a few short freebies about gargoyle’s and a dragon – you’ve got my mind buzzing ShirleyAnn

Also have been thinking about vampires a lot lately, thanks mostly to Tracy, but I think I’ll keep that under wraps until I have a solid plan and that it pan’s out into writing. Though I do have vampires in Assassin Union… so maybe I should just write that one.

Though I’ve been told that I should write a few more sci-fi/futuristic things, which I might do to, as I enjoyed the small slice of what I wrote in My Outside My Inside, even if I hesitate to call that sci-fi (tho technically it is)

I also wouldn’t mind writing a fairy tale/movie-esk book, I even have the movie and the plot that will make it mine, though follows the same pattern, but I’m not sure if it’s really a road I want to travel yet.

#MySexySaturday week 76

You’re So Sexy – you understand right, that characters whether they know it or not, are the sexiest things in the world. But, more so, that moment, that centred one where all the sexiness is front and centre

I’m choosing Colin, because, well, honestly, he’s the only one that come to mind at the moment, but also because Tim thinks he’s the sexiest things that’s walked on two legs, and Colin may in fact agree with the statement.

The smell of Colin was intoxicating. It wrapped around him, strong, a little more pungent from heavy sweating, but Tim liked the scent. He wasn’t sure if it was that pussy part of his brain that seemed love sick for this guy he just meet, or that the sweat hadn’t turned rotten yet and that was why it was nice. Still, it made Tim think of sex. And that wasn’t helping his ability to walk.
“You all right?” Colin asked.
“Yeah. Why?” Why indeed? Fucking idiot, Tim!
“You whimpered a little,” Colin told him, making Tim blush again.
He hadn’t meant to make a sound, but rubbing up against the guy had shut off his brain so his dick could have some time to think. It was never a good idea when that happened. Every guy on the planet knew that, showing how stupid the gender was where he kept on letting it take control.
“Sorry,” he mumbled as a response, which got their progression to the front door, but then stopped with Colin looking down at him, wondering, and thinking. Understanding came with a slight smile and then they were moving again, though all Tim wanted was for the ground to open up and suck him under. He was such a dork.
And probably ruined everything, any chance he had with Colin, because of the crush he’d no doubt shouted to Colin that he had.

April’s Interlude #1

A great big hello to you all. My name is April Kelley. I’m excited to be here. First I’d like to thank Bronwyn for having me. And I suppose an introduction is in order considering I’ll be here every Friday.
I’m a wife and a mother of two teenagers. I know, right? Teenagers. They are the loves of my life, but so scary sometimes. Like when my daughter tells me she has a boyfriend. Yikes. And my son thinks he knows everything. He wants to be the next YouTube star posting gaming videos, which I encourage because I play make believe for a living. What room do I have to criticize? None. Anyway, they are both super smart and talented and gorgeous. I know I’m their mother so I’m sort of bias but it’s true.
My family and I live in southwest Michigan. It’s the best place on the earth to live in my opinion because we have a lake that looks like an ocean when you stand on the shoreline. Sometimes if it’s a clear summer’s day you can see Chicago but I’ve only been able to do that once in my 40 years of living here.  All that water and beach is definitely good for the creative soul. It certainly helps me write and gets those plot bunnies hopping around in my head.
I write M/M contemporary romance for eXtasy Books. My very first published book comes out in February 2015. While I’ve been blessed that eXtasy Books agreed to take a chance on a newbie like me, I’ve been writing for most of my life. In fact, I still have the very first story I ever wrote. I was ten years old when I wrote it. It was a fanfiction story, before fanfiction was even a thing, based on the movie Stand By Me. I was so in love with that movie, with the idea that someone can have friends who were like family. I have three sisters and two brothers.  My siblings drove me crazy, so I really wanted to disown them all, and put my friends in their place. I’m glad I didn’t trade them in for different family members, because now they are all great people. One of my sister’s is even one of my best friends.
Anyway, I watched that movie endlessly. When I finally got my hands on the book I thought Stephen King was a genius. Okay, Stephen King is a genius.  I wanted to do what he did with words, create worlds that no one else knew about until I wrote them down and create people that were as complex as any person I encountered face to face.
I hope I accomplish this with even just a little with my series, Pickleville. Pickleville is typical small town USA, where everybody knows everyone. For a gay man the good citizens of Pickleville don’t always make the town a comfortable place to live. Few people find love even in a big city. I’m happy to be writing about men who find it in a very unlikely place.

The Winner Is…

WendyH

She wins all the books I publish this year!!

I’m absolutely and utterly amazed by just how far I’ve come in a simple year. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve let myself really feel like I’ve made a dent, or acknowledge the little things that I’ve active over the year. I want to say that it was because I was afraid of seeing how far I’ve come, to be disappointed, but it probably has more to do with my not caring in a way most newbies seem to this early in the game.

I don’t, in any terms, mean that I think I have a huge following, or one at all, but just having yous here, looking, entering…

Like I said amazed, this year, a year where I wasn’t all that pushy when it came to what I published, because, let’s face it, my promotional skill could use finer tuning. but I decided at the beginning on last year that I was going to take my time, and that’s what I’m doing, so if no one reads my books, well, they will in a couple of years, when I’ve actually stepped out and are seen.

The thing is, I am being seen.

This time last year I wouldn’t have even had 10 people click a few links on just a simple rafflecopter, let alone one that’s only a comment, and to have 10 people no, comment, just for me… I honestly, I’ve not got the words for it. I’m speechless with tears springing into my eyes. I kid you not, the fact that people are reading my blogs, are reading my books, even if it’s not a sky rocket… well to be honest I couldn’t probably live like this for – well, at least the next ten years. Once my kids get into adult territory my government, money will be stripped and it’ll have to work. Only I don’t want to look outside the house to work, I want this to seamlessly evolve from a hobby to a job.

It’s my goal. A ten-year one at that.

I want to thank you all again for the comments, I didn’t reply to them individually, because I, well, forgot, sorry, I’m actually really shit at remembering, though I think it has more to do with the fact that as a commenter I generally don’t go back and see the replies. I need to work on it. Maybe it’ll be my social goal of the year.

Characters Character #1

For my first one out I’m going to choice Jex from Moonlit Wolves 1: Loved by a Werewolf

I know it’s not my first book, but I’m re-releasing My Kevin a little later this year and so I’ll talk about them when I’ve read through their book, so closer to the date. They’ll be fresher by then.

So, we meet Jex in as his running through the woods being chased by his kidnappers.

I feel this book needs the backstory told. So I’m going to leave this moment and move onto that

I wrote this story as a Christmas thing for my blog, and then a series exploded from it. I know it’s a little short, a little… we’ll it could be better, but mostly I don’t believe this books should have opened my series. I know that it needed to be there, you can’t have either Matt or Jex without their book, but maybe if I went in there on the third book or forth you’d have had some backstory that would make you understand him a little more.

Jex is a… hm… okay I’m not sure what the technical term in the community would be, but his into rape fantasy, it’s what he truly gets off on, and though Matt can’t really give him that, he can at least give Jex enough.

Jex is a quite person, mostly because his been brought up in a house were over speaking got men killed, mostly in front of him. He has been splattered in blood more time than any child should, and rather then been tough full on self-defence his father hands him a gun or other implement as he tells him he going to get raped and beaten if he’s caught.

So, clearly not a loving dad, and yet he was, Jex’s dad didn’t lie to him. He didn’t hide behind who he was, mostly because he wanted his son to be aware of what life he lived in. He wanted his son to want his life. But our Jex is actually a lover, he doesn’t want gore or fortune, he wants love and friendship and family, the way a family should be.

He’s been isolated for a long time, not so much because his father has hidden him, but because his father is that horrid a person that most of the town’s people end up shunning Jex for the fathers behaviour. which made Jex withdrawn and even though he could have become moody and violent he generally just left everyone alone because it had gotten to a point that it hurt too much to have them friend him and then hate him before his dad pulled him out of the hole they ended up in and moved on.

It meant that when he meet Matt he wasn’t as pleasant to him, not in a way of rudeness but in the way of not opening up, and when you’ve hiding yourself, you tend to not see what others are trying to tell you. Which means finding out who Matt truly was… well it may not have been as shocking as it should have been, because he’d seen these points of weirdness, without actually seeing them.

Jex is one of my favourite characters to write, he’s complicated and his past is harsh but he takes on life with passion and a quite enthusiasm, which is so easy for me to write. With all his complexity, he is one of the simplest and openness characters I have. He has everything to hid, and nothing to lose.

He’s also horny as hell, him and Matt, if there in a room for any time they are getting it on, and they don’t care who watches, but this is mostly because of Matt, who I’ll get to next week…

Another Week We’re Sitting In

Alright this week I am FINISHING Moonlit Wolves 7, there’s no other choice, I have anything else that needs to go out, just this, and I’m 5K off the end. I’ve decided that I’m going to lock my iPad up if I don’t get this fucking thing done.

Seriously people, I’m done, it’s all about conclusion now, a battle, that’s it, because the romance, though I still need to add a tiny bit of romance conclusion, I’ve worked it out, it’s settled, just a fucking battle and I’M DONE!!!

Even bought myself some alcohol so that I can get through the edits my BETA picked up, a re-read, and then sending it off.

I’m sending it off at the end of the week at the latest.

And so with the hope that I actually do that, that it’s done, as I write these out at the beginning of the week. I’ll be working on my m-preg. I wanna write that in 2 weeks.

Saying this, I’m more than sure I can do that as I have someone who will make me, if she isn’t telling me to read something else. But I’m excited, it’s new, and it’s fresh and I wanna write it. but first the 6 heads beast (it grows another ever month it continues to be written)

However, people I want to point out, I actually like this story. I think it’s actually one of my favourites in the series, it’s just the series I’m having some real hate with. Hence, the break I’ll be taking from it for the rest of the year.

Onto blogging, just quickly. I have two new meme’s coming up this week, and that are hopefully staying for, well, at least the year

The first one is one Thursday and its Characters Character and Friday will be April’s Interlude.

I think they both stand for themselves, but you guys might not actually know who the first one is, and let’s face it, knowing something and being told your right, so let’s at it (may have been in a mood while writing this, lol – could have been drunk)

Characters Character is going to be me talking about my characters, letting you see inside their individual book as well as whom they are, or how I see them. Maybe they’ll make the book make a bit more sense; maybe you’ll learn just how little I know about my own characters.

The next is April’s Interlude, which is me opening up a day for a fellow author April Kelley. it’s her first year, and though I don’t have a great following I still have some and we think this will be a good way for her to get her name out and let you guys meet her, outside of bombarding of promotions.

Anyway I hope you’ll enjoy these two additions to my blog, I have just been finding it hard to think of things to write on both of my ‘me’ days. Though this isn’t really just me, it actually is.

Hope you guys find something you like, if there’s anything else you’d love to know about me, tell me and I’ll work it out, switch it up a bit.
